Kohl’s New Point Program – Yes2You Rewards! & SALE TODAY w/ COUPON CODES

kohls

Before getting into the details of Kohl’s new point program, I wanted to let you know that they’re having a 50% off sale, today only.  It looks like the online merchandise is in almost every department.  You’ll see links to the items, on the Kohl’s homepage.

The best way to do it is to start at Ebates.   That way, you will earn an additional 6% rebate (to cash out when you hit $10).  Even better . . . I also think you will earn a $10 Target (or other) gift card, if you are a new customer, placing an order over $25.  (I can’t verify this since I’m an existing customer.  If you verify, please let us  know.  A couple months ago, the promotion was still going.)

Then, from Ebates, search “Kohl’s.”  Click through to the Kohl’s site, from Ebates, and you’ll do everything like you would if you went directly to Kohl.com.  (Make sure you are in the tab that opens up from Ebates or you may not get credit.)  Hopefully, you’ll see a $10 gift card show up in your account or mailbox soon!

If you don’t want to use Ebates, go directly to Kohls.com.

Here are some current promo codes (have not verified all):
You can stack a few of them together, but I don’t know which ones for sure.

They can also look up your account with your phone number or email.
If you pay with your Kohl’s Charge Card, you’ll instantly earn Yes2You points if you’re enrolled.
If you have the Kohl’s app, the card number will be in your ‘mobile wallet’.

Points will be posted to your account 24-48 hours after the transaction has processed.
After all discounts, your total is rounded to the nearest dollar amount for points earned.
See my order below for an example.

All points are earned after all Kohl’s Cash, discounts, coupons, offers, and any other rewards are applied.
You cannot earn points through purchasing gift cardd.
You can earn points if you pay with a gift card.

All points expire in 12 months.

Points accumulate throughout each month.
At the end of each month, you will be emailed a Yes2You Rewards Certificate for the previous months points.
Print it out and redeem at the register.
To redeem online, give the 15-digit barcode and PIN when asked at checkout.

It doesn’t state about redeeming and earning points in the same transaction, but I assume you can.

You can also choose to share points with others who are enrolled in the program.
Or you can donate your points to children’s health and education programs.

If you return an item, you will lose the points you earned from it.
If you’ve already redeemed those points, you can get a negative points balance in your account.

I just signed up today and used a couple of promo codes online:
SHOP20 and SEPT4UMVC.
My total was $11.20 prior to codes.
I paid with my Kohl’s Charge card and spent $8.96 before tax total.
Since the nearest dollar amount before taxes but after codes was $9, I earned 9 points already!
They won’t be posted until the order is processed or ships – whichever comes first.

I will probably accumulate these points throughout the year and use them to buy Christmas presents.
Tons of sales, promo codes, and now points!
‘Tis the almost-here season! :)

Here are the terms & conditions of the program.

Fry’s Weekly Digital Coupon ~ Spend $40, Save $2

fry's_$40

Here’s a simple way we an still save at Fry’s.  Yes, it’s “only $2″ but think of it as making up for some of the lost doubling value.  Other stores don’t provide this (well, very rarely).  Let’s attempt to be positive!  :)

Fry’s has a new weekly Facebook ecoupon.  We’ve heard that it’s working now on some mobile devices.  It still may not work on some.

Spend $40, Save $2  (expires 10/7/14) You need to be at $50 after all store sales and digital coupons come off, but before you hand over your paper coupons.

Note:  If you’re having trouble loading this, try going to Frysfood.com and then logging in.  Then, come back and click the link above.

You can see the weekly Fry’s deals here.

Fry’s Coupon Policy Change 10/1/14 ~ Ending Double & $1 Coupons :(

frys_logo

Well, we were wrong.  All those rumors were true.  Effective October 1, 2014, Fry’s is ending double/$1 value coupons.  Here’s the full policy.

Honestly, I’m mad.  I’m not upset that they stopped.  Of course, I prefer that they continue, but I can handle the change.  They’re a business and need to do what they need to do.  I get it.  But, they’ve been lying to us.  All along, they’ve been denying that it’s happening.  We’ve called corporate and asked, others have, we’ve talked to varying store managers, their Facebook page has denied it — up until the day before it’s changing.  Susan even called today (a corporate contact) and he denied it or (possibly?) didn’t know.  When asked for their policy (on their Facebook page), they would share it on Oct 1.  The secrecy and last minute “reveal” is why I’m mad.  Communication . . . where was it??

But, I still hold my firm view that we aren’t entitled to anything from Fry’s.  We have freedom and can take our business elsewhere, just as they can change their policies.  I like Fry’s, but I don’t feel a compulsion to shop there to give them business.  On the other hand, I don’t feel like intentionally taking business away from them, out of anger.  I’m responsible to make money saving decisions for my family and that’s what I’ll continue to do.

Fry’s will still have some great deals, but we have options.  They will continue to provide the popular fuel points, Friday freebies, and gift card bonuses.  (Don’t forget that Safeway does, too — minus the freebie.)  We also know there will be times we can get much better deals at Safeway or Bashas’ that will both continue to raise the value of coupons.  Additionally, Walmart will match the advertised prices of other stores.  (Since Fry’s is not doubling coupons, you won’t lose that extra value you were getting at Fry’s.)  Costco and Sam’s is an appealing option for some things.  Finally, we can’t forget CVS , Walgreens, Target, and other stores.

So, we all have options.   What do you think you will do?

I will still shop at Fry’s, but it will be drastically decreased.  I like to ad match my produce at Walmart.  While I’m there, I might as well pick up my Fry’s ad matching items and save a trip to Fry’s.  I also see a shift to more shopping at Safeway, for me.  (If Bashas’ was closer, it might be there.  However, it’s not that far, so I may head there more often.)  With more shopping at Safeway, my fuel points will add up more quickly and I’ll start using their gift card perks instead of the ones Fry’s offers.  I also may have to step up my shopping at CVS, Walgreens, and Target, when it makes sense.  I won’t be boycotting Fry’s like some have said they’ll do.  I’ll shop there when I think they have the best deal or it’s the most convenient place to run in and get that “one thing” I need.  That’s me … what are your plans?

Note:  I have a busy day today, but I will adjust the prices on the Fry’s list sometime soon.  You’ll just have to do some mental math until I get to it.  :)   Sorry for the delay!

Here’s the full policy.

Channel 3 did a news story on it and have the news release from Fry’s.  I’ll copy it below.

“Fry’s Food Stores has announced a comprehensive price reduction plan, investing millions of dollars to reduce thousands of prices across the store. Fry’s started reducing prices throughout September, and all new low prices will officially be in place starting October 1.

The Fry’s team carefully selected items that are frequently found in most customers’ shopping carts to ensure all customers would benefit from the price reductions.

The items range from fruits and vegetables to grocery and household staples. National and private label brands are included in the widespread price reduction.

The program includes a significant number of lower prices in natural foods and organics, reinforcing a rapid increase in natural foods sales over the last decade. That trend is accelerated with the highly successful launch of the Simple Truth line of products, a Kroger exclusive. Fry’s is rewarding natural foods and organic customers as part of this initiative as well.

As part of this investment in lower prices for all customers, Fry’s has made the decision to stop its current coupon promotion (every coupon equals $1 or double couponing in Yuma’s two stores) effective Oct. 1, 2014.  The 120 Fry’s stores will continue to accept manufacturer coupons, digital coupons, e-coupons, valid printables and Catalina coupons at face value.

“We continue to leverage our scale as one of the largest retailers to work with suppliers to reduce costs, and in turn pass those savings along to our customers,” said JoEllen Lynn, Fry’s spokesperson.

FREE Subscription to Family Cirlce Magazine

family_circle

Go here to request a free subscription to Family Circle magazine.  You don’t need to enter a credit card #.

You may want to uncheck the “yes” box at the bottom.  Once I submitted (can’t tell if you have to do it or not) I just clicked “no” on the next two pages of offers.  It was super speedy.

Tip:  If you have a Bookman’s near you, if you read them fairly soon, you can take current ones there.  Earn a little extra trade credit for things you want/need!

My experience is that these magazines really come!  Honestly, I get so many free ones that I forget what came from where.  My theory is that if it doesn’t come, it only takes about 60 seconds to sign up.  Really simple!

(Thanks, Alicia’s Deals!)

How Does Saving Star Work? ~ Changes Coming October

savingstar_logo

I just wanted to remind everyone that changes are coming to Saving Star, starting October 1st, 2014.  There are two major parts to their change.

  1.   The savings at Fry’s will no longer be automatic.  You will need to scan your receipt to get the credit into your account, starting 10/1/14.
Register and then you can submit receipts/UPC images online or through their app.  You will also need the product’s barcode.

And, there are a bunch of retailers added, that will take scanned receipts.

  1.   The Arizona stores that participate are Fry’s, Safeway, Bashas, Food City, Albertsons, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, WinCo, Costco, & Sam’s Club.  There’s a complete list here.

Here’s the general information, if you haven’t used Saving Star before.

With SavingStar, you can save eCoupons to your grocery store loyalty cards and automatically get credited when you swipe your card at checkout or when you submit your receipt online or through their app.  The savings doesn’t come off at the register, it gets credited to your SavingStar account, within a week or two.  (Their official time is 2 – 22 days. )  If you scan your receipt, you have until three days after the offer expires.  You can request your payment via Paypal, bank deposit, or gift card when you reach $5.

The only “automatic” stores in Arizona are CVS and Bashas’.  You will enter the store’s loyalty card number once and savings will trigger whenever you use your card and buy the specified products.

There is a “Healthy Offer of the Week.”  Every Tuesday a new coupon is available to load for fresh produce.

They also have one item each Friday that you’ll get 100% cash back!  You have through Sunday to make your purchase.

The Arizona stores that participate are Fry’s, Safeway, Bashas, Albertsons, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, WinCo, Costco, & Sam’s Club.

Before the receipt scanning was needed, I just loaded everything and considered anything I received a bonus.  Now, it will take more effort and planning.  It will be easiest to head to CVS or Bashas’ for the Friday freebie, if that’s convenient and you need other items there.

Saving Star savings is not meant to be combined with paper coupons.  Here’s their official statement on that:

SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other services’ coupons, but they are not intended to be used this way.  Generally, manufacturers state that it is against their policies for shoppers to redeem more than one manufacturer’s coupon for the same purchase.  Using in-store coupons in combination with SavingStar eCoupons is not a problem.  In the future, we may implement mechanisms to limit the combination of SavingStar eCoupons with other manufacturer coupons.
