SafewayCan I Use a Walgreens Register Reward (RR) or Catalina at Fry’s? FAQ

I'm cheating a little by calling this a FAQ since it's really not frequently asked, but many people are shocked when they discover this.
Register Rewards (RR) can **probably** be used at Fry's. I have a couple disclaimers, but I haven't had any difficulties, other than strange looks that turn into shocking acceptance once I ask the cashier to scan it and they discover it goes right through without beeping.
I have tried this at two different stores and had it confirmed by a manager. Honestly, I can see where their policy is a little grey, though others see it differently. So, there's a chance your success may vary.
Their policy says:
Will Fry’s accept my Catalina manufacturer coupon if it has the logo of another store printed on it?
- If the coupon is clearly a manufacturer coupon, with a valid date, instructions to the retailer, and remittance address, the store should accept the coupon
Register Rewards do say "manufacturer" on them, so I consider that "clear." However, it's not "clearly" a typical manufacturer coupon. And, the policy says "should" accept the coupon and I'm not sure what that means.
More about Register Rewards. (They are from the same system that Catalina coupons come from, meaning you can also use the ones you earn at Safeway, etc.)

I always like to hear people are using them w/o trouble. It's not always the case, but ALMOST always. Some cashiers just don't know and it becomes a problem. I love not having to count items at Walgreens, find fillers, buy something I don't want because they're about to expire, etc. Glad it's working for you, too!
your right i don t want to deal with the rr at walgreens and at frys i do get some cashiers saying we don t take them and i say yes you do and if they say something i ask for the manager.
Is it just my rr, but they say under "thank you from" redeemable only at walgreens. I've been wanting to ask since the topic was brought up a a couple weeks ago. So since they say ONLY I haven't try them out at Frys.
I don't have one to check right now. I'm not sure if they all say that or not. I guess Catalina must reimburse them since they're part of the same network?? I would ask your Fry's and see what their policy is. It seems to vary some. Hope your store takes them!
I was just at Fry's tonight and after careful planning and counting up my RRs, I was so disappointed that they would NOT take them! I have been using them at Fry's since about a month or so ago, since I found out they will accept them. The cashier said she didn't think they could accept them, then called over the manager. He said they wouldn't accept them, and even after me telling them over and over that I've been using them regularly for the last few weeks, they would not budge! I am about to write an email to Fry's corporate right now. I am hoping they will give me something I can print out and bring with me to my store, so I can use my RRs before they expire on the 29th.
Please let me know what corporate tells you. Did they even look at their policy that addresses "manufacturer coupons" (clearly on them) that are Catalina coupons? Make sure you point that out corporate!
I'm still using them w/o trouble, though I don't do it very often since I just don't make it to Walgreens as much as I used to. If they won't, make sure you check out the current Walgreens list and, at least, extend the expiration on some news ones and/or see what you can use them on there. Sorry for the hassle. I hope they help you out!
