SafewayWalgreens ~ New Balance Rewards Card
Walgreens is making some changes next month. They will have a new program called Balance Rewards. Yep, they are jumping on the loyalty card train.
September 2-15 ~ Online Enrollment
September 16 ~ National Launch
Members will receive exclusive savings every week on popular products and earn points for your purchases.
Members can instantly earn and redeem points for items in the store and online.
Members will earn points for activities that help them stay well, like Walk with Walgreens, immunizations and prescriptions.
Points will not expire for 3 years as long as you make 1 purchase every 6 months.
Here is breakdown of the point values:
This program will not replace Register Rewards, at least not yet. Also, it's not clear yet if the card will limit your purchases. Like when CVS says "limit 1", it means limit 1. You can't get more unless you have another card. Currently at Walgreens, you can buy 50 of a sale item with a RR if you do 50 transactions.
We don't have all the logistics yet, so we will have to wait and see how this plays out. You can read more information here.
