sells bulk food products. The pick up locations around AZ (and nationwide) vary slightly. They are bringing ground beef in December and ham and bacon in November.
I'm not a good source to tell you ham comparison prices. We seem to get the cheaper cuts, but only when there are great sales, usually around Easter and possibly Christmas. The ham and bacon are both $3.29/lb. You get 30 pounds of bacon and 20 pounds of ham. We have split an order of bacon and it's great bacon. I haven't tried the ham.
The ground beef is 93% lean and is $3.29/lb as well. I have copied the meat details from the email they sent at the bottom of this post. You will get 40 pounds, as pictured above. It's so simple to slice and put in freezer bags. I brown some so that it's ready to go for a super simple dinner. I put onions and green peppers in some of it. My "moment's notice" dinner is to throw that in with some jarred spaghetti sauce. It's super lazy, but my kids like it and I consider it a step up from ordering pizza.
I went back and checked out the recent prices for 93% lean ground beef. It was only $2.77 – $2.99 per pound (Albertsons and Safeway) about two weeks ago. Then, about a month ago, it was $2.98 at Fry's. I think that's about as low as it gets. So, this is slightly more. I have no idea the qualify of those meats. (See below for this meat.) You would pay about $12 more for this quantity of meat, versus waiting for a possible sale. I am planning on getting it this time, just because it forces me to get it at one time and "deal with it." I would never buy 40 pounds of ground beef during a sale and the packaging makes it more difficult to put into the custom size quantities that I want.
This deal isn't for everyone — definitely! It's a huge quantity, but really takes up less freezer space than you would think. (But, I have an extra freezer.) I just put a shoe box in my freezer and stuck the freezer bags in there upright. I had a pretty big one and some stuffed on top.
Besides the space issue, it's also a lot of money. ($131.60) Consider sharing it with a friend.
