We got one last year and I really like it. I wish I got a bigger one, though. (I think ours was the 11" x 14" size.) So, I suggest spending a little bit more and going for the bigger size, but it will depend on your space, of course. If I got individual ones of the kids, I'd probably do the smaller size and get a larger one of the family.
