FREE Chapstick + $5 ~ Smart Phone Needed, NEW Ibotta User

I keep adding details to the previous post, so I figured I should just repost this.  I'll put the deals on top this time, instead of the bottom.  Details on ibotta are below.

You need a smart phone to do this.  It's easy and I've found a few good deals so far, at Fry's.  (You can also get items at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Safeway.  I'm just not sure of the starting prices there.)

You get a $5 bonus, once you complete your first deal.  Even if you find you don't like it (I think you will love it!) . . . do the Chapstick deal.  You'll end up with free Chapstick and $5 more in your pocket!  You can cash out once you hit $5 and that will put you at $6!  (If you're an existing user, you can still get free Chapstick, if you have the deal in your account.)

Here are some deals I had, hopefully you'll have the same offers!

Chapstick (Green Apple)   $1.00 (reg. price)
$1/1 ibotta (phone app, future cash back)
Final price: FREE after cash back factored in, will still pay $1 out of pocket

Simply Lemonade  $2.14 (reg. price)
$0.75/1 ibotta (phone app, future cash back)
Final price:  $1.39 after cash back factored in, will still pay $2.14 out of pocket

Orowheat Bread   $2.50 (not sure of ending date)
$0.50/1 ibotta (phone app, future cash back)
Final price:  $2.00 after cash back factored in, will still pay $2.50 out of pocket

Simply Orange Juice   $2.99 (through 1/1/13)
Check for a Fry's mailer coupon.  I had one off two that I used.
$0.75/1 ibotta (phone app, future cash back)
Final price:  $2.24 after cash back factored in, will still pay $2.99 out of pocket

Details on the program:

I tried ibotta at Fry's last night and I'm in love!  I knew I wanted to check out the Simply Orange juice price ($2.99) and had that deal ready to go, but I easily added an Orowheat bread offer as I shopped.  (Update:  I also got free Chapstick!)

I'm guessing most of you know more about your phone and apps than I do.  This will be a piece of cake for you since even simple old me figured it out!

When I got home, I just clicked on the deals I wanted to redeem.  The app prompted me to take a picture of the receipt and then go to the products and scan the barcodes.  Done!  I got a confirmation email saying it was accepted, in much less then the 24 hours they say.  $1.25 in my pocket and the $5 sign up bonus!  Easy!

If you have an iphone or android you MUST sign up for this!  Even if you decide it's not for you, if you do just one deal, you'll get the $5 sign up bonus.  That will put you over the $5 payment threshold.  You can request the money and call it quits.  I don't plan to, though!  I'm excited about this new way for me to save.  It's on top of coupon and sale savings!

Here's the summary of the program:

You can download the app ibotta for your android or iphone.  It also works on ipad2 and 3, I believe.

For a limited time, you can also get a $5 sign up bonus, after you make your first purchase.  (You need to use a referral link to get it.  I will also get a $1 credit, thank you!!)

You can use it as stores like Fry's, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.

So, what is it?

Then:

  • Choose your offers before you shop or even in the store
  • Take a picture your receipt
  • Scan the UPC code of select products, with your phone
  • Once you hit $5, you can request a Paypal payment or donate to a school

You can also earn bonus money by sharing on your Facebook wall, taking surveys, watching videos, reading facts, etc.
