My husband tells me this is a good deal and my son says it's a great deal. My son might know best since the half he has to pay feels like more to him than it does to us. :)
It's listed on Amazon for $59.99 full price, though I'm not sure they ever charge that anymore. This is only $34.99 for a one year Xbox Live Membership. Ironically, it's $5 more if you ask for a code to be emailed than it is for them to mail you a gift card. (The link I gave will get you right to the $34.99 gift card deal, not the other one.)
The nice thing about these cards (or codes) is that you don't have to use them right away. You can hang onto the card until your membership expires (and renew) or give as a gift later.
I just got an email from Amazon saying ours is on the way. One more year of killing, building, and tearing things down. Hooray . . . for boys and men! :)

So do you buy 2 subscriptions for your husband and son? Or so they share one? Because we’re considering a “family” membership since we have more than 1 Xbox user. Wonder if there’s a deal on that one too…
They share a subscription, so we only do one. Someone left a comment on FB saying you can get a family membership for four for $99. I'm not sure how or where, probably Amazon?? You could ask her on FB, if you need want that many. Sorry that I'm not so helpful. :(
