Tuesday, 3/15 ~ First Responder Day ~ First Responders save 10% on their grocery bill.

It’s been known that Saving Star works at Albertsons, but we didn’t really know how since they don’t use loyalty cards.  They said you could get a Upromise keytag, but when Juli and I asked at customer service, they had no clue what we were talking about.  Josh from Saving Star gave us the info!  Yea!  “Contact the stores’ customer support team at 877-932-7948. Please let them know that you use SavingStar and you will need to be issued a “Upromise keytag”. Customer support will ask for your information and you will then be sent a keytag in the mail which you can register in your SavingStar account as the loyalty card number for ACME, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, or Shaw’s.”

There is a $40 off grocery coupon when you buy 6 participating bottles of alcohol in the Albertsons monthly coupon book.  This book is often found around the store or ask customer service.  Go here to read a post all about this and how to get 6 bottles of wine for a super deal. Thru 4/29.  (Thanks, Eryn!)

Wow, corn, for 16c already. I thought we had to wait til July for prices that low. Hopefully they aren’t the shriveled little winter corn.

P.S. Any chance you could do El Super matchups on Tuesday afternoons (or earlier?) It’s just that I only find out what’s on sale on their weekly ad online 9pm on Tuesday night, and by then it’s too late for me to go to Walmart to pric ematch whatever’s expiring that week. It’s OK if you can’t, was just wondering.

    • Gina says:

I know it’s a great price! I got the corn from Safeway this week for .50 and it was really good. So, hopefully, it’s a similar crop.

I’m not sure about El Super. Let me ask Juli as I’m not familiar with it. We’ll get back to you. ~ Gina

    • Juli says:

It’s near the top of my list of things to look into. When I looked before, the ad was up very late on Tuesday nights. (It might have been the time zone thing, at the time??). I just keep forgetting to check on Tuesday nights. But, it sounds like you know that it’s Tuesday nights at 9pm. Unfortunately, we don’t get the smaller stores’ ads earlier than anyone else. We have to wait for them to appear online. That’s why we don’t get the match ups posted until late on Wed. night. Karen works on the ads and I don’t want to make her stay up any later than she does. Since El Super isn’t in as many areas as the other stores, I’ve just put it off. I’m on vacation now, but hope to figure it out and contact Karen when I do. I’m on the East Coast, so may (hopefully!) be in bed before 9pm in AZ. If I’m not, I hope to keep checking every hour and figure it out. If it posts by 9pm, it’s reasonable to add. All this babbling to say . . . it’s on the “to do” list and may appear sooner or later, but not on Tuesday afternoons. :(
