AZ Republic Deal ~ $1 Per Week ~ One Coupon Insert Coming 10/15

Get the Sunday & Wednesday papers delivered for just over $1 per week!!   (You’ll also be charged an extra $1 for months they have premium editions & extra for Thanksgiving, so more like $1.25 per week, possibly.)  You can sign up here or call 602-444-1000 and mention code DBLOG.  This offer continues until you cancel it!  (You will have to wait 30 days, after you cancel, if you’re already a subscriber.)

You can also pick up a Sunday paper at many places, for $2.  Unfortunately, sometimes they have fewer coupons than home delivery, but it can be a good way to get extra coupons on good weeks.  Dollar Tree also has Sunday papers ($1).  Be aware that some locations run out quickly or limit how many you can get.  Every once in awhile, a store will get a second shipment in after Sunday, so ask your Dollar Tree if they do.

We are scheduled to get one Smart Source insert this week.

The past two months I have been charged $5.70 (including tax) under this offer. When I called and asked why the increase, they told me that there is a “premium” Sunday issue being published once a month and there was no way to opt out of it.

    • Juli says:

:( I will contact the person I deal with at the paper and get her to explain the charge. If that’s going to happen every month, they will need to adjust the wording and pricing on the page. They mention a $1 premium edition fee four times a year, plus a Thanksgiving paper fee, but not each month. Maybe they are prorating this. I’m not sure. I’ll ask her to clarify and let you know what she says. I’ll also ask her what happens if you cancel your paper and don’t want it on Thanksgiving. Hope to have an answer sometime soon, but it might be next week.

    • Juli says:

The rep said that she doesn’t get informed, when the special editions are released. It does say they will happen four times a year, for an added $1, then a premium for the Thanksgiving edition. If they’re doing it every month, that’s more than than they said. If they charge you more than four time (plus Thanksgiving), I’d call them and point out the fine print. I asked her to change the fee that shows, when you click to buy and it sounds like they will. Okay… just went to check the fine print again, and either I’m losing it or they changed it. It doesn’t say four times anymore!??! Maybe they’re trying to do it every month. Ughhh! I’ll see if I can have them change the total and make that clearer, especially if they’re doing it every month now. :( We’ll also make a note on future posts like this. Sorry that it hasn’t been made clear. :(
