Nanci left this comment for us after going in August:
The museum’s parking lot was completely full but they offered overflow parking directly across Central Ave in the parking structure. The structure serves the Uptown Phoenix’s Arts District building, 1636 N. Central Avenue, which houses the offices of the Arizona Opera Company. It was free to park there, the attendant just asked that we park on level 3 or 4 and exit to Palm (since the other exits were not open). There were even two gentleman, maybe officers, controlling the lights and stopping traffic so we could cross Central safely. I was worried there would be no parking but was pleasantly surprised to find the overflow lot.  (Thanks, Nanci!)

It sounds like a lot of money, but when you see the list of stores included at each location, you’ll probably realize it’s not hard to hit.  There’s a drop down menu with all the stores listed.  Look for places like Target, Michael’s, Albertson’s, CVS, movies, restaurants, etc.  ** You could also buy gift cards and make your “real” purchase later.  Just make sure you have $150 in receipts from ONE day.

You will need to bring your receipts from one day of shopping (don’t have to be turned in the same day) to their management office Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm.  The links above tell you exactly where to find the offices.

Emails, Facebook, Twitter! ~ Follow Us!

Go here to get our daily emails.  Yes, they come everyday, usually around 2pm.  They’re not for the weak or those annoyed by getting an email every single day.  :)  The emails give links to all the posts we did, in the previous 24 hours.

Make sure you click on the confirmation email!!  So many miss this step.  I’m guessing it’s because it goes to spam sometimes, so be sure to check there if you don’t see it.

Facebook is where we’re most active.  We post extras over there all the time, especially more localized deals or offers that will probably disappear quickly.  As an added bonus, you can learn tidbits from others who contribute or ask questions over there.

If you hover over “Following” and choose “See First,” Facebook will show Bargain Believer posts first, so you don’t miss anything or see it too late … or never.  If you don’t, there’s a good chance you’ll miss a lot.  The more you like, comment, and share posts; the more Facebook believes you actually want to see the posts.  Stay active, please!  It also keeps us motivated, knowing there are people who are actually out there.  :)

Sometimes, we wait to post on Facebook, so there’s a greater chance it will actually be shown in your feed.  (Facebook doesn’t seem to like us posting things right in a row.)  If you’re waiting on something, you can always hop over to www.BargainBeliever.com and see if it’s already there.  Sometimes, we’re backed up, especially on Mondays & Tuesdays, when we do a lot of ad match ups.

Honestly, Twitter just gets the automatic feeds from the website.  If you’re a Twitter follower, everything will be there.  It will just show the post title and have a link.  There won’t be extra commentary or interaction there.

If you don’t know what this is, it’s probably not for you.  :)  You can get feeds in different ways, but here’s a link, if you want to set it up this way.

Ninjago Activities, Events, & Freebies ~ Many Free!

If you have a Lego Ninjago fan, there are a few upcoming events you may want to check out… many are free!

Legoland Discovery Center is having special weekends September 23 – October 15th.  Save Legoland from Garmadon’s Shark Army invasion and enjoy Ninjago themed builds and activities.  More info here.  You can get discount tickets from their website or a slightly better discounted price here.

The Lego Store has special events and freebies in September.  Chandler Fashion details here, Arrowhead’s here.

Target on Saturday, September 30, from 10am-1pm has a special Ninjago scavenger hunt.  You can get a comic book and keychain, while supplies last.  Details here.

Tempe Marketplace has a special display on select days in September.  On September 20 (hurry!), you can meet the characters after 7pm.  See all dates and more details here.

Barnes & Noble has a free Green Dragon mini model build on Saturday, October 7, at 4:00pm.  You get to take it home with you, while supplies last.  Not all locations seem to be participating, so check here the store near you.

Arizona Mills — Not Ninjago, but for general Lego lovers, they will soon have a huge Lego display you can touch, near the food court.  The size and detail that goes into these is amazing!

My kids and family friends.
My daughter is the second from the left and then the two on the right, I’ll claim.  :)  ~ Juli

Thanks, to The Legoland Discover Center & Arizona Mills for hosting a fun event and allowing my family and some friends to come enjoy a preview of The Lego Ninjago movie.  We really enjoyed it!  I was not required to post anything about this, but felt motivated to find some fun Ninjago activities after seeing it.  Enjoy the movie & all the events out there!  If you know of anything else going on, let me know and I’ll add it.

Kids FREE Admission in October ~ San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, Aquatica, Legoland and 40+ Museums in California

zoo

Family trips to California were always a favorite for me as a kid. We’d pile in the back of our pick up truck and go blazing down interstate 10 in July when it’s 115 out.  My pig tails were in knots by the time we got to my aunt’s house in Pomona.  Have you ever tried opening a Coke in the back of a pick up going 70 down the highway? Take my advice, don’t ever do it. My tangled pig tails also had a nice layer of corn syrup in them.  But, we’d stop at my aunt’s in Pomona, load her and my cousins in the back of the truck and head to the beach and all was right in the world.

I knew I had a picture one of these trips, so I just found it for you.  That’s me in the back on the left with the red pig tails.  At least my parents gave us cheap chairs to sit in.  Although, there were only 3 chairs and I was the youngest, which meant I sat on the blanket.  I’m not even sure how this was legal, but in 1979, I guess anything was fine!

In case you are planning a trip to California for Fall Break, here are some nice deals. And if you aren’t planning a trip to California, you should!  One tank of gas and the whole family is on the beach! And here are some great deals for kids in October, plus, the beach is free!

The San Diego Zoo and The San Diego Safari Park both offer free admission for kids in October.  You have to pay for any extras you may want to do, but at least the admission is free.  Adult admission is $52 for a single day into either the Zoo or the Safari park. Kid admission is $42 (ages 3-11), so this is a nice savings! I did talk to someone at the zoo and the told me that it doesn’t matter what you pay for your adult ticket, weather you save by getting the 2 day park pass or get tickets at Costco. Basically, kids just waltz in free as long as an adult is with them. And if you can get your kids to waltz, I’ll be even more impressed!  HA!

Sea World is offering a sweet deal right now too.  Buy a full priced Adult Ticket, Get a Child Ticket Free!  I don’t know how long the deal is running, but you have to buy the tickets on their webpage here and use them by 10/31.  The adult ticket will cost $94.99, but you’ll get a free kid ticket. A kid ticket is for children ages 3-9 and is normally $88.99.

Sea World Aquatica is offering the same promo as Sea World. Go here to buy tickets. But you only have thru October 8th to use those tickets. An adult ticket is $46 and a child ticket is normally $40 for ages 3-9.

Also, Legoland has kid free tickets too thru 10/31. Go here and use promo code: 17025. Or you can purchase this offer at a Legoland ticket booth, but you’ll need the coupon here.

And if that isn’t enough reason to load the kids in the back of a pick up truck, er I mean, put them in the SUV with full AC, their tablets and an Icee from 7-Eleven,  kids also get in free to 40+ museums in October. You can read more about that here.

There are also discounts at Costco, and I know there are some for military also.

You can read about those deals and a few more (like kids free on sightseeing tours) here.

Another great place to find discounts is Groupon.  You may surprised that something you planned to pay full price for has a Groupon deal!
