Flagstaff Day Trip & Continuing Free Admission to Science Centers!

We bought both of these Groupon deals and are planning on a fun Flagstaff day trip this summer.  Beyond that day, we’ll have a one year science center membership, so we can get into the AZ Science Center for free, along with many museums all over the country.  It’s a nice bonus when we take road trips.

Note:  If you’re buying the Lowell Observatory deal, just to get into other museums — amazing value!  It’s only $30 for four.  You’d pay $57.80 for two adults and two children to get in ONE TIME to the AZ Science Center!!  BUT … you have to go to Flagstaff (where it is) to activate your membership by December 31, 2015.

Both of these deals can end at anytime.  They both say “limited time.”

Summer scenic chairlift ride at AZ snowbowl.

$23 for a summer scenic chairlift ride for two ($38 value) or
$45 for a summer scenic chairlift ride for four ($76 value)
(Read all details before purchasing, to make sure you’re getting what you want.)

Note:  Or, use this link!  Since I just bought it, it said that if two or more people use that link, we’ll all be credited $9.79 to our credit card.  That would sweeten the deal for me and you!  :)  Wait … maybe you get $5.01 or $9.79??  It said everyone get $9.79, but now I got an email saying this … ???
“Did you know you can get $9.79 back on your purchase? Share this link with friends who would enjoy this deal (or simply forward this email). If 2 or more friends click your special link and buy before Sun, May 24 at 10:43 PM (MST), we will refund everyone $5.01 or more.”

The scenic chairlifts drop passengers off at 11,500 feet to the peak of an extinct volcano, where, depending on the weather, they can see for up to 70 miles around. The trip takes about 25 minutes each way, with plenty of time at the top for sightseeing. Forest service rangers are on hand to point out landmarks—including the Grand Canyon, cinder-cone volcanic fields, and Sedona’s red rocks—and educate visitors about the alpine tundra beneath their feet. Passengers aged 7 and under or 70 and older ride free. Scenic chairlift rides operate Friday—Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 22 through mid-October. Use by September 30, 2015.

Lowell Observatory
**$30 for one basic membership ($60 value)

** Make sure you get the membership for $30, not the admission for $24, if you plan to use the membership anywhere else, of if you plan to go back!
(Read all details before purchasing, to make sure you’re getting what you want.)

Members receive the following benefits:

  • Free admission to the observatory for a family (two adults plus minor children) and two guest passes
  • Discounts in the astronomy gift shop
  • A subscription to the quarterly newsletter The Lowell Observer
  • Free admission to more than 300 science centers participating in the Association of Science – Technology Centers’ Passport Program

Or, save a little bit more by using Ebates!  I love how the savings add up!

Go through Ebates for 6% cash back into your account!
Start at Ebates, type in “Groupon” and then click through to their site.  It takes a few seconds and then everything is the same after that.  The only difference is that 6% percent goes into your Ebates account.  They will send you a check sometime after you hit $10.

As a bonus, I’m pretty sure you’ll also get at $10 gift card to select places (Target was included) when you make your first $25 purchase, through Ebates.  I can’t tell for sure, since I’m not new, but last time I mentioned this a reader told me their came in the mail.  Let us know if you get one!

I am an affiliate with Groupon & Ebates.  I will receive a commission if you make a purchase using my links.  Thank you for using them!

Buy 4 M&M’s, Get a Free Movie Ticket

We have a list of summer movies that we want to see as a family.  It gets expensive, so I love offers like this.

You can buy these anywhere.  It doesn’t need to be at Fry’s, but Susan saw this sign at her Fry’s and grabbed a price there.  You may want to do this deal until Sunday as we are getting a new coupon!

Buy 4 bags of M&M’s, the big packs.  Keep your receipt and UPC codes.  They want the actual codes from the packs, so you may have to dump the candy in ziplocs unless you are REALLY hungry.  Then, go here to print a mail in rebate form.  Mail everything in and you’ll get $12 back in movie cash through your email address after it’s approved.  You can see a list of theaters here.  It looks like Harkins and AMC are both included, but be sure to check for your theater before hand just in case.

M&M’s   $2.99 (reg. prcie, at Fry’s)
$1/2 M&M’s, 9.4+ oz 5/17/2015 RP Insert (exp 6/28/15) (future, if we get it)
FREE M&M’s Crispy Chocolate Candy (small bag) wyb M&M’s 04/12/2015 RP Insert (exp 5/24/15)
Final price:  $2.49 each when you buy 2 + free movie ticket if you buy 4 packs

This is a total win/win.  If you are going to pay for the movie ticket anyway, why not get 4 bags of M&M’s for free.  Then, you have candy to sneak into the movie to eat at home when you get a chocolate craving.  :)

You can only get $12 in e-movie cash per mail in envelope request, but you are allowed two codes per household.  So, you can do this twice, just ring it up in two different transactions since you can’t mail it all in on one receipt; four bags per receipt.  Offers must be post marked by June 15, 2015.

Verify Email Subscriptions! ~ Great Way to Follow (Also Facebook, Twitter, or RSS Feed)

If you don’t get the Bargain Believer emails, you may want them.  You will receive one email between 3pm & 5pm, usually around 3pm.  (No, I’m not sitting at my computer at that exact time every single day.  They’re automatic and I never know the precise time they’ll go out.) :)

They will show you everything that was listed since the previous email went out.  It’s an easy way to glance over what was posted that day and make sure you didn’t miss anything.   Fair warning:  You’ll be bugged everyday around 3pm, but you can unsubscribe at anytime.   :)

If you’ve ever signed up to get the daily emails and you’re not getting them, you probably didn’t verify your email.  There is a significant number of people on the email list that haven’t.  Sign up again at this link and make sure to go to your email and click on the link.  It should come right away.

Of course, you can also follow other ways . . . Facebook gets a little extra love sometimes, with quickly disappearing deals, reminders, and just more interaction.  If you use Facebook, it’s another great way to follow.

Make sure “follow” is checked after you have “liked” Bargain Believer (beside the “liked” button).  Even better, hover over the “liked” button and check “get notifications.”  When you’re on Facebook, a little box will pop up when we post something and it will also be listed under your “notifications” tab on top.  As always, the best way to not miss anything is to comment or “like” posts on the Bargain Believer Facebook page …. often!

Dbacks Win 11-0 ~ Food Deals Friday at Taco Bell, Papa John’s, Jack in the Box and Circle K

Wow!  The Dbacks beat the Padres last night 11-0 at home!  Here are all the food deals tyou

Taco Bell is doing the same promotion they’ve done for several years, but it’s 5 runs instead of 6!

For Arizona residents, participating Taco Bells will give you three free tacos when you purchase a large drink, if the Diamondbacks score at least 5 runs.  (A win or loss doesn’t matter — well, for the tacos!)  :)  The deal is only good the day after the game from 4pm – 6pm.   No coupon is necessary.  Large drinks were $1.69 at my Taco Bell last year.

Here’s a link to their schedule.  It also lists the scores of past games, so you can see if they scored 5 runs!

Last year, you could pay 30¢ more for a limeade of freeze, 30¢ extra for each Dorito taco you wanted, or get all three “D-backs style” (sour cream & tomatoes) for $1.  I’m guessing it will be the same this year.

**  I’ve heard of rare Taco Bells in Arizona that don’t participate.  It’s safest to call yours before going, just to make sure.

“All season long, the day after every Dbacks win you get 50% off your regular menu price online order. They won last night, so you get 50% off your total online order today!”

Order online at Papa John’s and use the code DBACKS50

Remember it’s after EVERY win, all season long! (home or away games)

Here’s some other codes in case you need to order another day:

Here are other codes I try, when I want to get 50% off my online orders . .

ASU50 (after different sports teams win)
COYOTES (when in season)
CARDINALS (when in season)

If those fail and you don’t have points saved:
SAVE25 (for 25% off)

If any Dbacks player “Jacks” a home run out of the park, fans can go Jack in the Box the next day to receive a free Jumbo Jack with the purchase of a large drink.  The location I called charges $2.39 for a large drink.

If you’re not a Dbacks follower, you can do a quick internet search for “dbacks score” and you’ll see that you can click for highlights or a recap.  They should tell you if there was a home run, in their summary.

Circle K has a Strike Out Meter for the Dbacks. During regular season home games, check their page here for the strike out total of the game. The more strike outs, the better the deal!

You need to download their app to your phone to get this deal. Go here and in the lower right corner, you’ll see the icons to download the Circle K Arizona App. The deal will automatically get sent to your smartphone “as a deal” in the app. Follow the app instructions on claiming the deal. You’ll just need to show the offer on your phone to the cashier.

Today’s deal is a free Take Away Cafe Cookie, Brownie or Slice.  No other purchase is needed.

The AZ Diamondbacks has a great promotion for kids.  No Chew Crew membership is free to children 15 and younger who pledge awareness of the harmful effects of spit tobacco and “Say NO to spit tobacco.” Parents/guardians must be 18 years or older to register a child for the No Chew Crew.

Kids who take the pledge can get in free to select games.  You can read all about it here.

And when you are at one of the games, register to be part of the Dbacks Kids Club.  All children ages 3-15 are eligible, with a parent’s permission, to sign up for the club at the D-backs Kid’s Club HQ located in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sandlot, near section 332.

Kids can enjoy a free lemonade when they show their D-backs Kid’s Club card at Raising Cane’s, offer valid at all participating stores and with purchase.

You can earn other prizes too! Members simply scan their membership card at specially marked fan kiosks throughout Chase Field and receive a slip redeemable at the Kid’s Club HQ for a prize. Members earn a free prize for each of the first 20 games attended and a bonus prize at game 25 and 30! Kids must be presented to redeem prize.

You can read all about Raising Canes and the Dbacks Kids Club here.
