Homeschool Day at Sea Life Aquarium ~ Discounted Admission

homeschool_sea_life

Pick a day to have a fun outing with your homeschooler!  August 1 – 5, there is a nice deal for homeschoolers coming up at Sea Life Aquarium.

For $8.50 (attending adults & kids), students get to take a class and then they will have full access to the aquarium.  I homeschool and have taken my kids to a couple classes over the years.  They always had fun and learned something new.  This month, they’re doing a dissection and informational session about the importance of eating sustainable seafood.

Class times and tickets are here.  Show your “affidavit of intent to homsechool” or another ID for admission.

Tucson Pogo Pass ~ Budget Family Fun!

bargain tucson

Pogo Pass has expanded to Tucson!  Even if you’re not from Tucson, read on!

When ours expire, I plan to get the Tucson pass instead of the Phoenix pass, even though we don’t live there.

First of all, if you’re from Tucson, make sure you understand that they’re not all Tucson venues.  Many are in the Phoenix area.  If you live in Tucson, hopefully, you’ll be lured to Phoenix to enjoy the fun spots Tucson doesn’t have like Sunsplash, Phoenix Zoo, Dbacks, Rattlers, & Mercury.

The Tucson area venues include:  Arizona Zipline Adventures, AZ Air Time, Golf ‘N Stuff, & Golden Pin Lanes.

So, why would I get a Tucson Pogo Pass?  My kids are older and we don’t visit some of the venues that are more ideal for younger kids.  Our favorite attractions are included on the Tucson pass.  I think it would be a lot of fun to go to Arizona Zipline Adventures.  A little road trip is something we’d definitely be up for, maybe even getting to check out AZ Air Time and Golf ‘N Stuff while we were there.

Read the full details for each venue to make sure you know when you can visit and exactly what you’re getting before purchase.

Remember, venues are always subject to change, but my guess is that Tucson will be adding new venues since it’s just getting started.  If you already have a pass, you’d get to visit any new venues before your pass expiration.

Have fun!

Spend $150 at Tempe Marketplace or Desert Ridge, Get Dave and Buster’s Unlimited Video Game Card (thru 7/29)

dave

I love deals like this, if you can spend the money on things you would anyway.   I did a similar last month and it’s super simple and painless!  :)

Spend $150 at Tempe Marketplace or Desert Ridge on one day in through July 29th and get a free Dave and Buster’s unlimited video game play card ($35 value).

Details are here for Tempe (through July 29th or while supplies last) and here for Desert Ridge (through July 29th or while supplies last).

Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy at US Airways Center April 8-12. – See more at: http://www.tempemarketplace.com/disney/#sthash.bYsZzsw0.dpuf

It sounds like a lot of money, but when you see the list of stores included at each location, you’ll probably realize it’s not hard to hit.  Go here for Tempe Marketplace and here for Desert Ridge details.  There’s a drop down menu with all the stores listed.  Look for places like Target, Michael’s, Albertson’s, CVS, restaurants, etc.  ** You could also buy gift cards and make your “real” purchase later.  Just make sure you have $150 in receipts from ONE day.

You will need to bring your receipts from one day of shopping (don’t have to be turned in the same day) to their management office Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm.  The links above tell you exactly where to find the offices.

Here’s their fine print:

Dave and Buster’s unlimited video game play cards exclude ticketed games and are not valid on Wednesdays. Visit Dave and Buster’s to activate your card. Once card is activated, it will expire at the close of business the same day. Cards must be used by August 31, 2016. Applies to purchases made on the same day, July 1-29, 2016. Limit 1 free game play card per person for the duration of the promotion. Offer valid while supplies last. Must be 18 or older. Other restrictions may apply.

**  Note:  Call the Tempe Marketplace or Desert Ridge office, if you are making a special purchase to get these.  Make sure they still have some left!  And, if you a buying a gift card and want to be 100% safe, you may want verify that you still can.  I did it before and know others have, but you just never know when they might decide to change things.  I don’t want anyone too sad!  :)

Jacob also found some coupons for select places at Tempe Marketplace.  (Thanks, Jacob!)

Pogo Pass Renewal Rate Gone SOON! ~ Previous Pass Holders, Renew NOW

pogo_renewal

I wanted to remind all previous Pogo Pass holders who want to renew to do it SOON!

Pogo Pass will continue to let you renew your passes for $5 off, anytime before they expire.  BUT … if you’re counting on the discounted rate being there whenever you decide to renew … don’t!  They are no longer going to let all previous customers renew for $5 off, after June 30th.  If you’ve ever bought passes, you can login to your account and renew for $34.95 BY JUNE 30th.  Starting July 1st, only passes that aren’t expired can renew for the discount.  If you wait until expiration, you will have to pay $39.98.

Note:  If you decide to renew before your expiration date, you get immediate access to new venues and your expiration date is pushed back 365 days from your current expiration.  When you hit your current expiration, you’ll lose any unused visits from the first year, but the ones that reset for the renewal period will still be there, until the later (renewed) expiration date.

If you don’t have a pass … they’re a super value!  Pay $39.98 with this link or code BARGAIN.

The pass gets you into multiple venues for 365 days, for one price.  You are able to visit some places more than once.  It’s a true bargain.  We love our passes!

Mott’s Movie Promo ~ Free Ticket to See “The Secret Life of Pets” w/ purchase

secret_life_ef_pets

My family sees a lot of movies in the theater.  I’ll be the first to admit it’s not a true bargain thing to do, but … we still choose to do it.   Our theory is that we save on what we can, to spend on what we want.

But, when a deal comes along for movies, I’m thrilled!  Spending less is always preferred!!

motts

I saw these bottles of Mott’s apple juice (pictured above) and couldn’t resist.  They are $2.79 (thru 9/6) at Fry’s, but they (or other Mott’s products) might also be available at other stores, so keep watching for them.  Details here.

  • Buy 3 specially marked Mott’s products, get a free child’s admission ticket to see The Secret Life of Pets.
  • Go here to fill out info. and upload a copy of your receipt.
  • Receive an email with and code and instructions how to print a Hollywood Movie Money/ticket to take to theaters by 8/31/16 or while The Secret Life of Pets is still in theaters.  (Hollywood Movie Money is taken at Harkins.)
  • Full details here.

At Harkins, kids’ tickets are $6.  So, in my bargain mind, it’s like I’m paying only 79¢ for each 6-pk of juice, which is a stock up price to me.  I can tell you now … we’re going to shell out the six bucks for the money anyway.  I might as well get cheap juice out of it.

Now, be careful!  So many people who do these types of deals “double think” the bargain.  If you think you’re paying 79¢ for the apple juice, you’re not getting a free movie.  If you think you’re getting a free movie, you’re not paying 79¢ for the juice.  Sorry — a bargain pet peeve of mine.  You’re only getting one of those bargains — or split the difference and get both as semi-bargains.  :)

There’s another super movie deal going on now for Finding Dory tickets.  Go here for details.

Renew Pogo Passes Before Expiration to Save $5 ~ (New Policy!)

rising_prices_ahead
I wanted to make sure that those of you who have had Pogo Passes for awhile and are used to the way things have been working, understand there’s a change coming.

Up until now, once you bought a Pogo Pass, you could log into your account anytime and pay $5 less, if you wanted to renew your passes.  (You would pay $34.95 vs $39.95.)  That will be going away, effective July 1, 12016.   To get the $5 discount, you will need to renew your pass BEFORE it expires.  If you wait until after the expiration date, you will need to pay $39.95.

If you have an expired pass right now, they are allowing you up until June 30, 2016 to login to your account and still take advantage of the $5 off.  If you’re pass has expired — RENEW soon!!

If you don’t have a pass … they’re a super value!  Pay $39.98 with this link or code BARGAIN.

The pass gets you into multiple venues for 365 days, for one price.  You are able to visit some places more than once.  It’s a true bargain.  We love our passes!
