Sunday Coupon Insert Preview ~ 1 Coming on 9/21/14

If you like to peek ahead to see what coupons you should expect on Sunday, go to Sunday Coupon Preview and check it out.  It looks like we should be getting two inserts this Sunday . . . Red Plum (RP) and Smart Source (SS). Remember, coupons are sometimes regional, so there aren’t any guarantees what we’ll get.  However, they are usually pretty close and give you a good idea what to expect. az_republic_3_for_1 If you don’t get the Sunday coupons, you can get the Sunday and Wednesday Arizona Republic delivered for only $12 for 3 months, if you haven’t been a subscriber in the past 30 days.   I have verified that this is the best rate they currently have available.  You pay for one month, get two for free.  That works out to approximately $1 per week!  The key is that you need to cancel in three months, if you decide not to continue at full price, since it’s an autopay offer.  I’ve often called to cancel a promotional rate and they’ve extended it, but no guarantees on that.

My favorite is:

Wet n Wild Cosmetics   (Lipstick, Eyeliner and Nail Polish are around $1 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Albertsons)
$1/1 Wet N Wild Product 09/21/2014 SS Insert (exp 10/4/14) (future, if we get it)
Final price:  FREE

Saving Star Friday Freebie ~ Kraft Mac & Cheese or Velveeta Shells & Cheese Cup

SavingStar has a new Friday Freebie.  You only have until Sunday, 9/14 to buy this offer.

Saving Star Friday Freebie ~ Kraft Mac & Cheese Dinner Cup or Velveeta Shells & Cheese Cup
FREE SavingStar eCoupon (future savings, exp. 9/14)
Final price:  FREE after full rebate, cash out when hit $5

This is different from the Fry’s Friday Freebie.  After you click “I Want This” on the offer, you’ll pay full price at the register.  In about 2-22 days, you’ll get a credit for the amount you paid  in your Saving Star account.

Note:  Other stores are now accepting SavingStar.  Sign up and then download their mobile app.  For stores without a loyalty card (like Target) you will need to submit a receipt through the app.

Plus, check out all the other great coupons.   This is a click, click, click job for me.  I just go click what I think there’s a chance I’ll ever buy.  Then, I wait for money to accumulate into my account.  You can cash out once you have $5.  More details are below.  Go load ‘em up!

They have a new deal called “Healthy Offer of the Week”.  Every Tuesday a new coupon is available to load.  Check back every Tuesday for a new offer.   My Saving Star account has never seen so much activity between the Healthy Tuesday offer and now the Friday Freebie!  Love it!

If you don’t know what it is, here’s more information:

With SavingStar, you can save eCoupons to your grocery store loyalty cards and automatically get credited when you swipe your card at checkout.  The savings doesn’t come off at the register, it gets credited to your SavingStar account.  You can request your payment via Paypal, bank deposit, or gift card when you reach $5.

I just load what I have a chance of buying and then forget about it.

The Arizona stores that participate are Fry’s, Bashas, and CVS.  Albertsons is included too, but there isn’t a loyalty card for that store.   They said you could get a Upromise keytag, but when Juli and I asked at customer service, they had no clue what we were talking about.  Josh from Saving Star gave us the info!    “Contact the stores’ customer support team at 877-932-7948. Please let them know that you use SavingStar and you will need to be issued a “Upromise keytag”. Customer support will ask for your information and you will then be sent a keytag in the mail which you can register in your SavingStar account as the loyalty card number for ACME, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, or Shaw’s.”  I called earlier this week and the rep knew exactly what I was talking about and my Upromise keytag is in the mail.  Thanks again Josh!

They are not meant to be combined with paper coupons.  Here’s their official statement on that:
(Personally, I load everything I might buy and forget it.)

SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other services’ coupons, but they are not intended to be used this way.  Generally, manufacturers state that it is against their policies for shoppers to redeem more than one manufacturer’s coupon for the same purchase.  Using in-store coupons in combination with SavingStar eCoupons is not a problem.  In the future, we may implement mechanisms to limit the combination of SavingStar eCoupons with other manufacturer coupons.

New Checkout 51 Offers, Plus Info on Ibotta and Ibotta

It’s Thursday which means we have new Checkout 51 offers.  Sometimes, these offer vary from person to person. Hopefully, you have this one. My favorite will get cheap Nature Valley Granola.  I’ve been wanting to try this, but have been holding out for a better price.  I think this is it!

** Nature Valley Protein Crunchy Granola   $3.99 / $4.99
$0.75/1 Nature Valley Protein Crunchy Granola 08/24/2014 SS Insert (exp 10/4/14) (worth $1)
$0.75/1 Coupons.com (gone if not first coupon shown after clicking link, worth $1)
$0.75/1 printable (worth $1)
$1/1 Checkout 51 (phone app, future cash back) NEW
$0.75/1 SavingStar eCoupon (future savings)
Final price:  $2.99 / $3.99 (or possible future savings) (Buy 5, Save $5)

You have to buy in groups of 5 to get the best price, so you’ll need to find four other items.  You can see the weekly Fry’s deals here.

If you are not using Checkout 51, here’s all the info about this program.

There are new offers every Thursday. From what I can tell, the first 3 or 4 offers are the same for everyone. After that, they may vary slightly depending upon if you redeemed an offer, etc. This week, we have an offer for onions. Remember on the produce offers, you don’t have a minimum to buy. You can buy 1 onion.

What I like about Checkout 51 is it’s good at any store. I wish they had more offers though and were more consistent. Susan got an offer for strawberries this week. I didn’t. If you don’t redeem an offer it will sometimes carry over from week to week, but there is really no way of knowing if an offer will expire Wed. night or not. It’s still a great way to save. You can also combine this with offers on ibotta or Shompium. They are different programs.

Here’s what they say about their program:

Checkout 51 is the easiest way to save money on the brands you love! We’re currently saving over half a million Americans and Canadians money every day and have much larger plans for expansion!

All our members have to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Browse the offers that are updated every Thursday
  2. Buy the products from any store
  3. Take a photo of your receipt to redeem your deal
  4. Get cash back!

It works on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. You don’t have to have a portable device though. You can use it with your computer and you just need to take a picture of your receipt with a camera. (Thanks, Cherie!) You have to reach $20 in savings to get payout, and they will mail a check to you. If you are a new member, the first receipt over $20 that you scan in will earn you $2 back! I’m at $11.50 in my acct. It adds up quickly.

So, go here to sign up and start saving today!
ibottaIf you haven’t tried ibotta yet, you really should give it a shot. If you are loving it like we are, they just added several new offers. I think this is my favorite one of the 3. They almost always have offers for milk. In the 18 months I’ve been using it, I’ve gotten back close to $57. Most of the items I bought and received money back were things I was buying anyway or items I purchased for super cheap that were on sale and with a coupon. What I don’t like is that they don’t work at Albertsons yet. Drives me crazy since they almost always have milk on sale. You can always price match at Walmart and the ibotta offers work there. They also offer bonuses sometimes, like redeem the milk offer and 2 others and get an extra 50¢.  That is not available this week though.

Here’s how ibotta works:

Take a look at the offers on ibotta and do the simple tasks to earn the full reward money.

When you get home, just clicked on the deals you want to redeem. The app will prompt you to take a picture of the receipt and then go to the products and scan the barcodes. Done! You’ll get a confirmation email saying it was accepted, in much less then the 24 hours they say. Money in your pocket! Easy!

If you have an iphone or android you MUST sign up for this! This is an exciting new way to save. It’s on top of coupon and sale savings!

Here’s the summary of the program:

You can download the app ibotta for your android or iphone. It also works on ipad2 and 3, I believe.

You can use it as stores like Fry’s, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. (Albertsons is not included yet).

So, what is it?

  • Choose your offers before you shop or even in the store
  • Take a picture your receipt
  • Scan the UPC code of select products, with your phone
  • Once you hit $5, you can request a Paypal payment or donate to a school

Deals can vary slightly but most are the same.

If you like Checkout 51 and Ibotta, you may want to try Shopmium. It’s a new way to save on top of sales and coupons.

It works like this:

  • Choose an offer in the list and find it in your regular store. They list stores that have it, but any store that has a computer generated receipt works (which is pretty much everywhere now a days.)
  • Buy the product and keep your receipt.
  • Ask for your refund by scanning the barcode and take a picture of your receipt.
  • Receive your refund via paypal or bank transfer or give to charity!

That’s it. Some perks of Shopmium is that you don’t have a minimum cash out value. I just redeemed two offers and they went straight to my paypal account! I love that I don’t have a $5 or $20 minimum to payout. If I don’t like it or don’t like the offers they have, I’ve lost nothing.

It works on iPhones or Android devices.

If you’d be kind enough to enter Juli’s referral code, she’ll get $2 per new user when you redeem your first offer! You’ll also get an offer for a free Lindt Chocolate Bar when you use her referral code. Win/win! This is a small way that Juli get’s paid, so that she can pay the rest of us to keep this blog going! We’d all appreciate it.

Download the app on your phone here.
