Sunday Coupon Preview ~ 3 Coming on 10/26

If you like to peek ahead to see what coupons you should expect on Sunday, go to Sunday Coupon Preview and check it out.  It looks like we should be getting three inserts this Sunday . . . Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP) and Proctor & Gamble (P&G). Remember, coupons are sometimes regional, so there aren’t any guarantees what we’ll get.  However, they are usually pretty close and give you a good idea what to expect. az_republic_3_for_1 If you don’t get the Sunday coupons, you can get the Sunday and Wednesday Arizona Republic delivered for only $12 for 3 months, if you haven’t been a subscriber in the past 30 days.   I have verified that this is the best rate they currently have available.  You pay for one month, get two for free.  That works out to approximately $1 per week!  The key is that you need to cancel in three months, if you decide not to continue at full price, since it’s an autopay offer.  I’ve often called to cancel a promotional rate and they’ve extended it, but no guarantees on that.

Did you know you could a free 6 month subscription?  They sometimes have coupon inserts in them.  Head over here and sign up.  You’ll probably have to do a survey or two, but it won’t take more than 10 minutes or so of your time.  Then, you can get select the Wall Street Journal as your reward.  It also sometimes has inserts mid-week.  It’s always a nice surprise.

My favorite that we should get on Sunday are:

Speed Stick Lady, Teen or Men’s   $1.00 (thru 10/28)   AT FRY’S
$1/2 Speed Stick Lady 10/26/2014 SS Insert (exp 11/15/14) (future, if we get it)
$1/2 Speed Stick Mens 10/26/2014 SS Insert (exp 11/16/14) (future, if we get it)
Final price:  50¢ each when you buy 2

Speed Stick Gear Deodorant   $3.99   AT CVS
$1.00 ECB when you buy 1 (limit 1, What are ECB?)
$2/1 Speed Stick Gear or Body Spray 10/26/2014 SS Insert (exp 11/16/14) (future, if we get it)
B1G1 Coupons.com (gone if not first coupon shown after clicking link)
Final price:  As low as 99¢ (after ECB factored in)

Softsoap Body Wash (15-18 oz)   $2.99   AT CVS
$1.00 ECB when you buy 1 (limit 1, What are ECB?)
$1/1 Softsoap Body Wash 10/26/2014 SS Insert (exp 11/15/14) (future, if we get it)
Final price:  99¢ (after ECB factored in)

Additional Ways to Save With Snap, Checkout 51, Ibotta, Shopmium and Saving Star

snap

Snap is the newest phone app that you can use and get future cash back.  It’s similar to all the other money saving apps.

  • Snap will work at any store.
  • Cash out once you reach $20 in savings.  You’ll get a check.
  • Sometimes, they will even let you get multiples of one item and get multiple savings.  The limit is listed on the offer.
  • Will work on smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
  • Offers can disappear at any time when they reach their max.

Head to Snap to download the app or you can read more about it in their FAQ section here.

————————————————————————————————-

checkout_51_002

Every Thursday, we have new Checkout 51 offers.

Are you using Checkout 51?  Here’s all the info about this program.

There are new offers every Thursday. From what I can tell, the first 3 or 4 offers are the same for everyone. After that, they may vary slightly depending upon if you redeemed an offer, etc.  Remember on the produce offers, you don’t have a minimum to buy. You can buy 1 apple or 1 banana and get the money back.

What I like about Checkout 51 is it’s good at any store. I wish they had more offers though and were more consistent. Susan got an offer for strawberries last week. I didn’t. If you don’t redeem an offer it will sometimes carry over from week to week, but there is really no way of knowing if an offer will expire Wed. night or not. I’ve had All Detergent on mine for going on a month now. That’s good and maybe not so good. If I redeemed the All, would I have maybe gotten the strawberry offer? Maybe. Maybe not. It’s still a great way to save. You can also combine this with offers on ibotta or Shompium. They are different programs.

Here’s what they say about their program:

Checkout 51 is the easiest way to save money on the brands you love! We’re currently saving over half a million Americans and Canadians money every day and have much larger plans for expansion!

All our members have to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Browse the offers that are updated every Thursday
  2. Buy the products from any store
  3. Take a photo of your receipt to redeem your deal
  4. Get cash back!

It works on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. You don’t have to have a portable device though. You can use it with your computer and you just need to take a picture of your receipt with a camera. (Thanks, Cherie!) You have to reach $20 in savings to get payout, and they will mail a check to you. If you are a new member, the first receipt over $20 that you scan in will earn you $2 back!

So, go here to sign up and start saving today!
——————————————————————————————————
ibottaIf you haven’t tried ibotta yet, you really should give it a shot. If you are loving it like we are, they just added several new offers. They also offer bonuses sometimes, like redeem the milk offer and 2 others and get an extra 50¢.

Here’s how ibotta works:

Take a look at the offers on ibotta and do the simple tasks to earn the full reward money.

When you get home, just clicked on the deals you want to redeem. The app will prompt you to take a picture of the receipt and then go to the products and scan the barcodes. Done! You’ll get a confirmation email saying it was accepted, in much less then the 24 hours they say. Money in your pocket! Easy!

If you have an iphone or android you MUST sign up for this! This is an exciting new way to save. It’s on top of coupon and sale savings!

Here’s the summary of the program:

You can download the app ibotta for your android or iphone. It also works on ipad2 and 3, I believe.

You can use it as stores like Fry’s, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. (Albertsons is not included yet).

So, what is it?

Then:

  • Choose your offers before you shop or even in the store
  • Take a picture your receipt
  • Scan the UPC code of select products, with your phone
  • Once you hit $5, you can request a Paypal payment or donate to a school

Deals can vary slightly but most are the same.
———————————————————————————————————

shopmium

If you like Checkout 51 and Ibotta, you may want to try Shopmium. It’s a new way to save on top of sales and coupons.

It works like this:

  • Choose an offer in the list and find it in your regular store. They list stores that have it, but any store that has a computer generated receipt works (which is pretty much everywhere now a days.)
  • Buy the product and keep your receipt.
  • Ask for your refund by scanning the barcode and take a picture of your receipt.
  • Receive your refund via paypal or bank transfer or give to charity!

That’s it. Some perks of Shopmium is that you don’t have a minimum cash out value. I just redeemed two offers and they went straight to my paypal account! I love that I don’t have a $5 or $20 minimum to payout. If I don’t like it or don’t like the offers they have, I’ve lost nothing.

It works on iPhones or Android devices.

If you’d be kind enough to enter Juli’s referral code, she’ll get $2 per new user when you redeem your first offer! You’ll also get an offer for a free Lindt Chocolate Bar when you use her referral code. Win/win! This is a small way that Juli get’s paid, so that she can pay the rest of us to keep this blog going! We’d all appreciate it.

Download the app on your phone here.
Please use referral code: GCCGAUVL

savingstar_logo

Saving Star has made some changes recently and they are now more like the other programs above.

  1.   The savings at Fry’s will no longer be automatic.  You will need to scan your receipt to get the credit into your account, starting 10/1/14.
Register and then you can submit receipts/UPC images online or through their app.  You will also need the product’s barcode.

And, there are a bunch of retailers added, that will take scanned receipts.

  1.   The Arizona stores that participate are Fry’s, Safeway, Bashas, Food City, Albertsons, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, WinCo, Costco, & Sam’s Club.  There’s a complete list here.

Here’s the general information, if you haven’t used Saving Star before.

With SavingStar, you can save eCoupons to your grocery store loyalty cards or to your Saving Star account and get credited when you swipe your card at checkout or when you submit your receipt online or through their app.  The savings doesn’t come off at the register, it gets credited to your SavingStar account, within a week or two.  (Their official time is 2 – 22 days. )  If you scan your receipt, you have until three days after the offer expires.  You can request your payment via Paypal, bank deposit, or gift card when you reach $5.

The only “automatic” stores in Arizona are CVS and Bashas’.  You will enter the store’s loyalty card number once and savings will trigger whenever you use your card and buy the specified products.

There is a “Healthy Offer of the Week.”  Every Tuesday a new coupon is available to load for fresh produce.

They also have one item each Friday that you’ll get 100% cash back!  You have through Sunday to make your purchase.

The Arizona stores that participate are Fry’s, Safeway, Bashas, Albertsons, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, WinCo, Costco, & Sam’s Club.

Before the receipt scanning was needed, I just loaded everything and considered anything I received a bonus.  Now, it will take more effort and planning.  It will be easiest to head to CVS or Bashas’ for the Friday freebie, if that’s convenient and you need other items there.

Saving Star savings is not meant to be combined with paper coupons.  Here’s their official statement on that:

SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other services’ coupons, but they are not intended to be used this way.  Generally, manufacturers state that it is against their policies for shoppers to redeem more than one manufacturer’s coupon for the same purchase.  Using in-store coupons in combination with SavingStar eCoupons is not a problem.  In the future, we may implement mechanisms to limit the combination of SavingStar eCoupons with other manufacturer coupons.

Free Redbox Rental Today

redbox

Head over to Redbox to get a free dvd movie rental today, Monday, 10/20.

Use promo code:  OCT20

I tested it online and it worked.

I’m not sure if it will work directly at a kiosk or if it’s only online reservations.
If you find out either way, please let us know.

Update:  Jane was able to use it at the Fry’s kiosk, so it may work at any kiosk.

We’ve also heard you can use these codes up to five times on a credit card that you’ve used before and three times if it’s a new credit card.
You just need to check out separately for each one.
You can give that a try, if you want a movie marathon!

(Thanks, Passion for Savings!)
