{"id":282,"date":"2010-04-19T20:23:35","date_gmt":"2010-04-20T03:23:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bargainbeliever.com\/blog\/?page_id=282"},"modified":"2021-03-02T16:46:15","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T23:46:15","slug":"register-rewards-rr","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bargainbeliever.com\/blog\/general\/register-rewards-rr\/","title":{"rendered":"Walgreens Cash Rewards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Walgreens uses Cash Rewards (formerly Register Rewards).\u00a0 They are coupons that print when you purchase certain items.\u00a0 They are cash-off coupons for purchasing most anything on your next purchase (see coupon for exclusions like alcohol, gift cards, prescriptions, etc).\u00a0 There are a few things to make sure you understand ahead of time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The limit is always one Cash Reward per deal, though sometimes they require you to purchase multiple products.<\/li>\n<li>They usually expire in two weeks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>They can&#8217;t be used to pay tax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t use the Cash Reward you earned to buy the same product again, in another transaction. \u00a0The Cash Reward will not print. \u00a0It is fine to use a Cash Reward that you earned from another product. \u00a0(It rarely comes up, but products from the same manufacturer might also give you problems. \u00a0For example, if you received a Cash Reward for Crest, you might not be able to use it to get one on Scope.)<\/li>\n<li>The number of items you are purchasing can&#8217;t be less than the number of manufacturer&#8217;s coupons and Cash Rewards you are redeeming.\u00a0 (If the manufacturer&#8217;s coupon is &#8220;off 2 items,&#8221; count that coupon as two.)\u00a0 Store coupons don&#8217;t count.\u00a0 So, if you have a manufacturer&#8217;s coupon for each item you are purchasing, you need to throw a &#8220;filler&#8221; item(s) in if you want to use the Cash Reward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Sometimes a store will let you ring items separately if you want two deals, but it&#8217;s up to each store.\u00a0 The ad usually states that there is a limit of one.\u00a0 If you do, make sure you don&#8217;t pay with a Cash Reward you just earned for the same product or the new RR won&#8217;t print.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s often wise to ask the cashier to ring up multiple transactions so you aren&#8217;t stuck with a bunch of expiring Cash Rewards.\u00a0 I feel better doing it in Cosmetics or Photo so I don&#8217;t hold up a big line. \u00a0Or, consider stepping back in line, if it&#8217;s busy. \u00a0(So, split your order up to use the Cash Reward that you just earned for the following transaction.)<\/li>\n<li>Shop early in the week.\u00a0 Sunday is best.\u00a0 They often run out of items and they don&#8217;t give you rainchecks for the Cash Reward portion, just the sale price.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.walgreens.com\/topic\/help\/generalhelp\/coupon_policy_main.jsp?_requestid=37856\">Link to full coupon policy<\/a>.
