{"id":297,"date":"2010-04-19T20:58:55","date_gmt":"2010-04-19T20:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bargainbeliever.com\/blog\/?page_id=297"},"modified":"2018-08-24T19:56:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-25T02:56:11","slug":"extra-care-bucks-ecb","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bargainbeliever.com\/blog\/general\/extra-care-bucks-ecb\/","title":{"rendered":"CVS ExtraBucks Rewards (EBR)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CVS has a program that gives you\u00a0 ExtraBucks Rewards (EBR).\u00a0\u00a0 (This used to be called Extra Care Bucks, ECB&#8217;s.)<\/p>\n<p>You need to sign up for their Extra Care Card and they will automatically print when you purchase certain items.\u00a0 They print at the bottom of your receipt, so watch for them and tear them off for a future purchase.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are like cash, to be used on future purchases (with a few exceptions like gift cards and alcohol). \u00a0Most expire within a month.<\/li>\n<li>You can&#8217;t share an EBR.\u00a0 It is tied to your card and can only be redeemed when using the same card that earned the reward.<\/li>\n<li>The can&#8217;t be used to pay tax.<\/li>\n<li>The full amount can be adjusted down if wanted. \u00a0(If your total is $4.98 and you have a $5 EBR, you don&#8217;t have to buy something else. \u00a0It can be accepted for $4.98.)<\/li>\n<li>Watch the limits in their ads.\u00a0 They are tied to your card.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t help to ring them separately or make a return visit.<\/li>\n<li>Some offers have a monthly limit.\u00a0 Sometimes they are advertised more than once in the month and\/or we highlight them more than once.\u00a0 (This is rare, but can happen.)\u00a0 Check the bottom of your receipt to see if you&#8217;ve hit the offer limit before you do it again.\u00a0 (There is also a number listed in the ad, if you want to compare one week to another.)<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s often wise to ask the cashier to ring up multiple transactions so you aren&#8217;t stuck with a bunch of expiring EBR.\u00a0 (So, split your order up to use the EBR that you just earned on the following transaction.)<\/li>\n<li>If the EBR limit is more than one, it will add up the total and print one EBR.\u00a0 (So, if you earned a $2 EBR for each toothpaste you bought (3), you would get one $6 EBR.)\u00a0 If you prefer smaller amounts, so you don&#8217;t have to spend it all at one time, you&#8217;ll need to ring them up separately.\u00a0 You can even buy the next one, with the EBR you earned on the previous transaction.<\/li>\n<li>Get a raincheck if they are out of an item.\u00a0 They are wonderful about writing rainchecks with the EBR amount on them.\u00a0 When you return, just be sure they give it to you since it&#8217;s a manual process and can be forgotten, since it&#8217;s done at the end of your transaction.<\/li>\n<li>Scan your card at the red boxes that are usually located near the front of the store.\u00a0\u00a0 There are often good coupons that print.\u00a0 They tell you about some in their ad, but others are a surprise and can vary from one person to another.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bargainbeliever.com\/blog\/general\/extra-care-bucks-ecb\/#comments\" class=\"bb_comment_link\" title=\"11 comments\"><span class=\"bb_comment_count\">11<\/span><span class=\"bb_comment_label\">Comments<\/span><\/a>CVS has a program that gives you\u00a0 ExtraBucks Rewards (EBR).\u00a0\u00a0 (This used to be called Extra Care Bucks, ECB&#8217;s.)
