Cafe Rio Taco Tuesday Special!
Head to Cafe Rio on Tuesdays. Their tacos are only $2.49. (Steak tacos at my location are 75¢ extra.) You can also add rice, beans, and a drink for another $2.50. Under $5 for a combo meal is awesome! (The price went up in 2021. It used to be $1.99, if you’re wondering.)
They are very generous with their toppings. (Sour cream and guacamole cost extra.) Ask for more of something if you want it. I end up with a decent-sized salad-like creation at the end, for only $5, with a drink!

Good to know! I wonder if they load coupons they recently gave everyone who had the app. I have a free drink with entree purchase that is good from 3/18-4/22. Whatever it is, glad you got them both. Enjoy!
It’s ok. Just be forewarned that as you go down the line, letting them know what you want in your dish, that many of the things they ask if you’d like (sour cream, guacamole, etc.) come with extra charges. They don’t expressly let you know while they offer it, so if you are on a budget, it can be an unwelcome surprise at the register. — update: I just looked at the coupon before posting, and am happy to see a disclaimer noting that some optional items have an additional charge. Guess I wasn’t the only unhappy customer.
Thankfully, I’m a guac. hater and rarely use sour cream, except in my beef stoganoff. :) Well, I’ll do sour cream every once in awhile on my chimi’s, at home, but it’s probably two teaspoons, just to make my toppings stick a little. :)
I should get discounts at Mexican restaurants since I always say I don’t want it — unless someone with me likes it, then I ask for it on the side and they can pile it on. I used to do that for my mom. :)

It’s my favorite place!! The chicken salad with house dressing is AMAZING!!! I’ve been eating there since 2006 when I moved to UT and that’s the only thing I ever get. It’s THAT good.
Thanks for the recommendation. I really want to go there sometime. I’ve heard great things about it. I think it was some kind of burrito that was recommended to me, but now I can’t remember what. That tells me that I probably can’t go wrong! :)
