You pay extra for different experiences in the zoo like feeding the animals, the carousel, camel rides, or the Safari Cruiser (tram).

Get in free to the Phoenix Zoo with a Pogo Pass!

You can visit the Phoenix Zoo for free if you have a Pogo Pass.  And … many other venues! (It doesn’t work for Zoolights, just regular admission.)

Since one zoo admission is $39.95 (age 14+) and $29.95 (ages 3-13) ($2 less with online purchase), this is an incredible deal.  You also get to go to Sunsplash (about $40 admission regularly!) … all with the one pass that’s activated as soon as you buy it.

Pogo Passes are such a great deal!  There are about 20 venues you can visit, some of them more than once.  Venues are subject to change, but the pass has been pretty stable for a long time and a notification is usually given if a venue is dropping or if one is being added.

Use code ZooBargain or this link and pay only $59.99 (50% off) for a fun pass that lasts 365 days.  It’s worth so much more!!

Passes are activated immediately, so you’re set if you’re discovering this on the way out the door or even sitting in their parking lot.

Phoenix Zoo Discount on Groupon

Save money by using Groupon.

The offer can change at any time or completely disappear, but right now it’s not amazing.  You get 5% off your tickets.  If you go directly through Phoenix Zoo’s website, it will be less.  BUT, check the link above since offers change at any time.

Also, look for a banner on the top with an additional discount code.  Sometimes, you’ll see one for 20% off purchases or similar.  You may also see a pop-up when you first get to their website, asking for your email in exchange for a 20% off code.

Want to make it even better!?!

Start your Groupon purchase with Rakuten.  The percentage will vary, but right now they’ll credit you an additional 10% of what you spend.

If you’re a first-time Rakuten user, you’ll also get a $30 bonus if you spend $30 or more.  (This can change at any time, but this is their current offer.  I also get a bonus, so thanks for using my link.)

They payout once you earn $5.01 in cashback deals from your online shopping.

You sign up, then you type in “Groupon” and follow the link they provide.  You’ll end up at Groupon’s website to make your purchase.

From there everything is the same, except you’re earning cashback!  You’ll probably love having signed up when Christmas rolls around if you do a lot of online purchasing.  Just remember to start your shopping there and click through to the site you want to shop at.  The savings add up!

Where can I find Phoenix Zoo coupons?

The Phoenix Zoo offers coupons in brochures found at local hotels and visitor centers.  In the free brochure is a coupon that gets up to 6 people a discount of $3 per adult or $2 per child.

The problem is tracking these down.  I did my best.  Details below.

But, remember … if you buy tickets online, they are $2 off (with a $2 total processing fee).  So, you’re not saving too much more even if you located these discounts.  I wouldn’t waste too much time unless it’s super convenient for you.

Tempe Visitor Center

The Tempe Visitor Center has Phoenix Zoo brochures with coupons for $3 off adults’, $2 off kids’.  It’s good for up to 6 people.

Just call ahead to make sure they still have them.  480-894-8158

Hotels

I called a few smaller hotels surrounding the zoo, but I didn’t have any luck.

You can also try to call or visit a hotel you know about that’s on your regular path and not too far away from the zoo.  Hopefully, you’ll find them somewhere.  If you do, please leave a comment below and I’ll update so others know in the future.  Thanks!

Does the Phoenix Zoo have a group discount?

Note:  I’m working on getting updated info for 2023.  This may not all be current . . .

The Phoenix Zoo offers discounts if you are purchasing 25 or more tickets.  This offer is valid for individuals or corporations.  Adult (age 14+) tickets are $22 each.  Children (ages 3-13) are $15 each.

There is no processing fee if you pick the tickets up at the zoo, though corporations have a $2 processing fee.  If you want the tickets mailed, there is an additional $5 charge.

Schools also get discounts for field trips with 15 or more people.  The charge is $8 per person (doesn’t matter the age).  You will need one adult per 10 kids.  If your school has Title 1 status, read the full details since you may qualify for $4 admission.

There are also discounts ($10 for adults/$8 for children) for supervisory care individuals and those they serve.

Forms and full info on all these discounts can be found here.

How much is a Phoenix Zoo membership?

Phoenix Zoo memberships are currently $129 for one adult, $169 for two adults, and $279 and $389 for different levels of family memberships.  Beyond free entry with each visit, you’ll be able to enter 1 hour early and receive other discounts like 10% off in the gift shop and discounts for birthday parties and special events.

They are generous with the number of children allowed with their family passes, not the typical two.  The $279 level allows 4 kids and the $389 one allows 3 adults & 6 kids with free safari rides for all.  If you plan to visit a lot, a membership is a good value.

If you think visiting the zoo only one time a year is enough for your family, consider a Pogo Pass since you’ll probably pay less than a zoo “membership” and get variety by visiting more venues.  See above or go here for more info on Pogo Passes.

Full details on memberships can be found here.

Do you get a discount at the Phoenix Zoo if you have a membership to another zoo or aquarium?

The Phoenix Zoo is part of the reciprocal zoo and aquarium program.  You can get 50% off if you’re a member of another participating venue.

The list changes, so make sure you check out the current one here.  You may want still want to call to verify the information before going since they say things can even be different from their published list.

Do you get a discount at the Phoenix Zoo with an EBT card?

The Phoenix Zoo used to offer a significant discount for EBT cardholders, but they don’t anymore.

Can you get into the Phoenix Zoo free with a Culture Pass from the library?

The Phoenix Zoo is not on the current Culture Passes that you can check out from the library.

Can you bring food into the Phoenix Zoo?

You are allowed to bring food into the Phoenix Zoo.  You can even bring an entire cooler full!  Just don’t bring glass containers or alcoholic beverages.  There are many picnic tables available throughout the zoo.  You can save a bunch by bringing in your own food!

If you know of any other discounts to get into the Phoenix Zoo or which hotels carry the brochures with coupons, please leave a comment.  I’d love to discover and share more ways to save!
