Dbacks Kids Club, Free Sundays at Chase Field + More Fun!

The Arizona Diamondbacks have some great perks for kids at Chase Field.  Beyond free admission on Sundays, there are freebies like batting practice, pinatas, face painting, play structures, virtual reality, and more.  I wish I knew about all these Dbacks perks when my kids were younger.

NOTE:  This has been not been updated for 2024 yet.

What age kids need tickets for Dbacks games?

Your two-year-old child won’t need a ticket to a Dbacks game.  Their policy states that if they’re under 3 years old and you’re willing to have them sit on your lap, their admission is free.

You’ll want to have your kids 15 and under join the Dbacks Kids Club.

They will earn free prizes and even get free admission on Sundays.

Information about the club is here.  You will need to download the MLB Balllpark app to register.

Sandlot at Chase Field

The Sandlot is a fun place for kids and is impressive!

Check it out if you have younger kids that are getting restless or if you just want to provide some variety and extra fun for them.  It’s open through the 7th inning.

Head to the Upper Concourse in left field, past Section 332.

They have two batting areas.  Futures Field is for kids 60″ or shorter.  They will hit pitches with a Wiffle Ball and run the bases after their last hit.  Behind that, there’s a batting cage for kids 48″ and above with coaches there to give them some tips.

They also have a climbing structure for kids under 48″ and 3 years or older.  Plus, there’s a toddler zone for kids 36″ or shorter, with a slide and tunnel.

It is not a drop-off area.  You must stay with your kids the whole time.  There are monitors throughout the area so you can keep up with the game while keeping your kids happy.

Student rates for Dbacks games

If you want your kids (or you, if you’re a student) to get in for a good rate, check into their student pricing.  Look for the graphic above in the MLB Ballpark app., go here, or text STUDENT to 76925.  Often, on game day, you’ll get offers for $5 or $10 tickets.

Get a Pogo Pass for Dbacks games and more

A great way to get into the ballpark for free is to purchase a Pogo Pass.  Included in the $39.98 price are two admissions to Dbacks games.  You’ll also get into Sunsplash, Phoenix Zoo (twice!), and so much more!  Use code BALLPARK or this link or the price is higher.

Note: Beginning May 1, the price of Pogo Passes is going up to $49.99 (with code/link).

The games you can choose from for 2022 are on Pogo’s website.

After you purchase your pass, you’ll be able to pre-register, two weeks before the game.  Your tickets will be waiting at will-call.

Fair warning:  The seats aren’t amazing.  They’re up high.  But, it’s a great way to get into the ballpark for free.  If you’re really motivated, you could get there early and go to one of the restaurants that allow you to sit there, eat, and watch the whole game.  That would be a bargain way to get into the park!

Dbacks kids run bases free on Sundays (not verified for 2022)

After Sunday games, kids aged 3-15 get to go down and run the bases for free.  Kids Club members get to go to the front of the line if they wear the Kids Club t-shirt they earned from the 2018 season or wear the Baxter pin they earned (prize #5) for 2019.

At the beginning of the ninth inning, families can line up on the east ramp across in sections 111, 203 and 304.  Kids rejoin their families before exiting the field in section 131.  At times, this event may be canceled due to post-game events.   If you want to be sure it’s happening, call 602.462.6607 and verify.

Bring your own food & drinks into Chase Field

Save money by bringing your own food and drinks into Dbacks games.  You can bring sealed water bottles into the park if they’re not flavored or carbonated.  You can also bring in soft coolers as long as they are smaller than 11″ x 11″ x 15″.  Food items can also be brought in a clear plastic bag of the same size, or a grocery style bag.

Cheap Dbacks Discount Concession Prices

If you don’t want to bring your own water and food into Chase Field, there are several Double Headers concession stands throughout the main concourse.  They offer inexpensive food options.  You can get $2 soda (12 oz), hot dogs, corn dogs, or popcorn.  The portions are pretty small, but it should keep the kids happy.  They also have $4 beers . . . not for the kids!  :)

These perks aren’t just for kids, but if you like a bargain … make sure you check out all the food deals the day after a game here.
