Go here to enroll. Click on the “learning” tab and “Ed2Go: 300+ courses”.
I live in Yavapaii county, so I couldn’t test it out but it looks like a great idea.
We got an e-mail about it from Melissa saying:
“I got an email from the Maricopa County District libraries this morning saying they are offering FREE online classes through MCC and it’s sister schools just for having a library card!! I was looking at these classes just before I got the email and was amazed that we can access them FOR FREE just because we have a library card. There’s over 300 classes available and you can start as soon as tomorrow or later (Feb, March and April start dates are also available). It’s a 6 week course but so awesome!! Enjoy!”
Now, go learn to play the guitar or take better pictures or medical terminology! So cool!
Update: If you don’t get the code, Carla let us know this over on Facebook . . .
I never got the codes the first time I requested them. Then I signed in using the link from confirmation email that I got when I created an account and then requested my passcode and the code came up right away. (Thanks, Carla!)
Update 2: Amy left a comment saying: Thanks so much for the information. I did want to let you know the process of this though. Unfortunately it is not as simple as just living in maricopa County. Living in the county is not enough. :( You have to have a library card with one of the following libraries (taken off the Maricopa County District website). Listed below. I called and spoke to someone with the library who informed me that I would be allowed to get a library card at one of those branches even though I don’t live in that specific city because I live in Maricopa County.
North Valley Regional (Anthem)
(Thanks, Melissa!)

I’m so glad I re-found this post! I’ve been looking for an SAT/ACT prep class for my son, who is a senior this year, and I was able to enroll him for two prep courses at no charge by using my Scottsdale Library Card. The courses look like they are identical to the ones offered online by Maricopa Community Colleges for $110 per course. So I just saved $220 and was able to put the course materials on hold at the library instead of buying them.
That’s awesome news Wendy! I’m so glad you were able to save so much money! Yea! Don’t you feel like celebrating!?! :o) ~ Gina
Thanks for letting us know, Wendy! That’s a big savings!! I dug this post up awhile back since I wanted to look into it for my kids. I didn’t get very far and figured I’d repost it, once I figured it out and could give a firsthand experience. But, since I’m behind . . . do you mind if I share your experience? I would probably be lazy and just quote you. :) If you don’t mind, let me know. Also, if you learned something along the way, to make the process easier, let me know. I’d like to share that — and to know, for my own personal reasons. I need to get moving on this. :) Thanks!
Thank you so much for this information. I did want to let you know the process of this though. Unfortunately it is not as simple as just living in Maricopa County. Living in the county is not enough. :-(

(I live in Phoenix. I have Phoenix and Chandler library cards which are not valid for this deal.) Hopefully I will be able to make a drive to one of these locations soon.
Thanks for letting us know Amy. I added a note to the post, so others know about it.
Wow! That's so great. Thanks for letting us know!
