2026 Bearizona Law Enforcement Days are coming! On February 28 & March 1 (Saturday & Sunday), it’s $5 per carload for officers with ID or support staff with proof of employment.
Yes, you read that right! It’s $5 for a whole carload, not each person. This is an incredible deal. Plus, even your $5 goes to C.O.P.S. organization.
Each vehicle must have one law enforcement personnel in it with ID in order to pay the $5 rate.
This is a huge savings! Here are the normal rates:

Most places that only require ID to be shown (no email or app sign up) will also give kids the freebie. Most of the time, they’ll believe the adult with them, but to be extra safe I’d grab their birth certificate or other proof of birth date. You don’t want a sad birthday kid or an empty wallet!
Things can always change, so if you’re making a special trip, give your location a call.
These are all in the Phoenix area and beyond. Many are even national.
The majority of the birthday deals out there require you to sign up for an email club or download an app. They will email a coupon or an offer will appear in your app, around the time of your birthday or sometimes the beginning of your birth month. Many are good for a week or two around your birthday. Some are good even longer.
Sign up before your birthday so that offers start to roll in when your birthday comes, and you can enjoy a couple of weeks of great deals! Some require you to register up to 30 days ahead of time, so get on it!
If you’re not interested in additional information from the places listed, consider using a non-primary email so that your inbox doesn’t get flooded with updates and deals. (You can create free ones with Gmail or Hotmail.) Just make sure you are able to log in and access the deals when your birthday comes around.
Keep in mind that additional offers may roll in throughout the year, so if you don’t want to miss out on those, use your primary email … or remember to log in to your extra email account before visiting places you get birthday offers from, at other times during the year.

LOTS of amazing stuff! But, we did not include higher-priced dine-in restaurants that give you a free dessert or appetizer with your meal since so many do, especially desserts. Call ahead or ask your server about those perks if you’re celebrating your birthday at a dine-in place. There is usually something.
We just don’t feel dessert offers with a meal purchase are super amazing and … it’s your birthday! You deserve SUPER AMAZING, and you don’t need to weed through all the other stuff.

AZ Ren Fest admission adult ticket pricing is the same online as at the gate, but you will pay an additional $1.99 processing fee for each ticket if you make your purchase online. The exception is that there’s a $5 off coupon for kids’ tickets that you can use online! (See below.)

Monday, February 16 ~ Queen Katherine’s Birthday Surprise
Kids FREE (ages 5-12) when you bring a birthday card for the queen to the festival box office.
February 28 and March 1 ~ Kids Need to Read
Bring two new children’s books to the Kids Need to Read tent outside the front gate and receive a free child admission (ages 5-12).
March 28 and 29 ~ Superstition Community Food Bank
Bring 3 canned food items or non-perishables to the Superstition Community Food Bank’s tent outside the front gate and receive a free child ticket (age 5-12).
They are not offering senior (65+) or military discounts this year. However, if you show your ID at the box office, you will receive a FREE beverage voucher. The voucher is valid for soda, tea, or bottled water up to $3 and is not valid at the coffee shops.
There is not an extra discount for President’s Day weekend, but the other discounts mentioned above apply.
Parties of 15 or more can get a $2 discount on Ren Fest tickets if they plan ahead. Tickets will be $34 for adults and $22 for kids. The organizer also gets a free ticket. The bus or tour operator will also get in free with proper ID. If you have 30 or more in your group, you can get a second ticket free. If you need more than that, either ask or place separate orders.
You need to request a promotional code by 5 pm on the Thursday before the weekend you plan to attend, so don’t procrastinate too long.
Keep in mind that using the discount code RC5PHX will save you $5 for kids instead of $2, so you probably want to use that instead … unless you need them to count for getting to 15, I guess.

Make $200 worth of purchases February 2 -28 at Tempe Marketplace or at The District businesses at Desert Ridge Marketplace and you’re set for getting two free tickets. District brands are from AMC Theatres to Barnes & Noble and Jin Jia. It does not include any exterior brands including Albertsons, Target, etc.
VERIFY THEY HAVE TICKETS BEFORE MAKING A SPECIAL TRIP. THEY WILL RUN OUT!
At Tempe Marketplace, it sounds like a lot to spend, but with places like Target, JCPenney’s, and Ross it might not be as hard as you think. Plus, keep in mind that the $200 could be spent on gift cards if you’re in a hurry or want to make your “real” purchases later.
You can shop any one day, combining receipts from different places at one shopping center. When you’re done, for Tempe Marketplace head to the management office is located next to Yogi’s Grill facing the north parking lot, open 8 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday. At Desert Ridge, you will also go to their management office. (I’ll update soon if I get better instructions.)
When you bring all your receipts from purchases on a single day, they’ll stamp them to indicate you’ve received tickets. You will get your receipts back, in case you have another need for them later. Simple!

It’s “while supplies last” so make sure you verify they still have them if you’re doing it later in the month if you’re making a special trip or purchases just for the tickets!

It is seven miles east of Apache Junction on US Highway 60. Plan extra time to get there since traffic can get backed up on the road leading to the festival from the Mesa area.
The 2026 AZ Renaissance Festival will run from January 31 – March 29. It will be open Saturdays, Sundays, and Presidents’ Day.

Be aware that after each show, performers ask for tips. Tipping is not required, but you may want to have some cash handy to support them for a job well done.
Each person is allowed to bring one 16-24 ounce factory-sealed water bottle into the Renaissance Festival. No other food or beverages are permitted.
The AZ Renaissance Festival is open 10 am – 6 pm rain or shine. If it’s graining, grab an umbrella and enjoy a less busy day when others are scared away or assume they are closed! Refunds will not be given.
If you get your hand stamped on the way out of the Renaissance Festival, you can get back in for free the same day.
Pets are not allowed on the Renaissance Festival grounds.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes to fit the weather. Keep in mind that all the activities are outdoors, spread over 50 acres.
In general, the Arizona Renaissance Festival will probably be sunny and warm. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, or other sun protection. If it’s a cooler or rainy day you may want to bring a light jacket.
Of course, you can go all out and dress in a costume if you want.
If you don’t have a costume, you can rent one outside the gate. Prop swords and daggers are allowed as long as they are properly sheathed, peace tied by safety personnel at the main gate, and remain sheathed while there.
Shirts and shoes are required, so don’t forget those!
You can buy your Renaissance Festival ticket at the gate and pay for most merchandise with a credit card. However, only cash is accepted for food, drink, games, and rides. You will also probably want cash for tipping after shows.
There are eight ATMs on the fairgrounds if you need access to one.

For whatever reason, I hadn’t thought of Burlington when I needed (or wanted!) something, but I rediscovered them recently.
If you aren’t familiar with Burlington, think of a cross between TJ Maxx & Ross, but probably closer to Ross with pricing. (I find TJ Maxx more expensive most of the time.)
They have clothing for the whole family, a beauty section, and a good selection of random household items including decor, unique gadgets, and essentials. They even have some food. They also have a clearance section in most departments where you can find even better deals.
They have so many random things, from unique to practical for really good prices.
Burlington is having a winter clearance sale!
They have some clothing in all departments that are on clearance, including nice jackets in many sizes.
Burlington has the same maze-like shopping line as TJ Maxx. Keep your head up and look in that area as you wait in line or … walk slowly to the register.
Most of the stuff I get my grandson comes from garage sales, but sometimes I can’t resist. He loves animals!
They have a good selection of Valentine’s gifts and decor if you need that — even more than pictured here, on the other side of this display.

There are a few promos and ways to get discounted (even free!) Phoenix Open tickets for 2026. Watch your favorite golfers at TPC Scottsdale for less during the event from February 2-8, 2026.

New Entrance
A new fan entrance will be added on Greenway Hayden Loop, just north of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard (located in close proximity to 18 tee). It will improve crowd flow on high-attendance days like Friday and Saturday. (The Greenway Hayden Loop will be closed to general public vehicle traffic from Frank Lloyd Wright to Princess Drive.)
Entry Times
Traditional main entrance opens at 7:00 am.
The new entrance off Hayden Rd. just north of Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. opens at 7:30 am.
Get in line earlier if you want to get a seat at the iconic 16th hole, especially on Friday and Saturday.
General admission prices to the Phoenix Open from February 2-8 are as follows:
Monday & Tuesday (Feb. 2-3) = Free
Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday (Feb. 4, 5, & 8) = $75 + $15 fees
Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6 & 7) = $125 + $18 fees
Kids 15 and under are free with an adult’s admission.
Sadly, I haven’t seen anything about this promo for 2026, so I don’t believe it’s happening.
Get two free tickets to the Phoenix Open! This is perfect if you have some shopping to do.
Make $400 worth of purchases on any one day from January 19 through January 31 (Tempe says thru February 6, but it’s until supplies last and they expect to run out) at Tempe Marketplace or Desert Ridge Marketplace and you’re set for getting two free tickets.
They are no longer providing tickets for admission any day. Specific dates will be given based on availability on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets will be distributed digitally through the AXS Ticketing Platform. An email or phone number must be provided to receive the tickets. Please note that tickets are not guaranteed, and they say the promotion will sell out.

You and a guest can get free admission Wednesday – Sunday (Monday & Tuesday are free for everyone) if you are part of active duty, military reserve, national guard, military retiree, veteran, police, fire, or EMT. They have a limited number of tickets for each day, so they suggest you request them early.

Each person is allowed to bring one guest each day.
