60 lbs of Produce for $10 ~ Market on the Move ~ Metro Phoenix Areas & Tucson

I haven’t posted about this yet, this season.  Market on the Move (now called 3000 Club) is a great way to get a bunch of produce for an amazing deal, but the selection is limited.  If you are wanting a big variety, this isn’t for you.  If you plan on getting what they have and either sharing or canning and freezing some — go for it!

Basically, you donate $10 and get to pick out two boxes or produce — approximately 60 pounds. The selection varies from week to week.  The earlier you get there, the better selection you have.  “Like” them on Facebook to see the upcoming selection, usually on Fridays.

Tomorrow (Saturday, 11/10), they will have Italian squash, pickles, grape and vine tomatoes, watermelon, and honeydew.  Some locations will get green beans and bell peppers (limited).  All items may not be at all locations.  There are usually plenty of tomatoes and we’ve made some great salsa.  Watch their Facebook page for updates.

They will be in Glendale, Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, Mesa, Goodyear, and Tucson.  You can bring your own containers or they have boxes available for you.

Check out Market on the Move’s (now 3000 Club) current dates, times, and locations on their Facebook page.

If you haven’t gone, it’s probably worth your time to check it out.  I’ve written about it before.

Disneyland Discount Tickets at Costco

Update:  Check out the Bargain Believer FB wall for some more tips and price comparisons.  (You'll have to scroll down and look for the picture above.)

We don't normally post Costco items, but I thought this might be something you might be interested in.

My family just went to Disneyland at the beginning of October.  I looked and looked for great deals on tickets and as most of you know, they are few and far between.  I had checked Costco, but they only had tickets online and it included a whole package with a hotel and I found I could everything cheaper myself.  Three weeks ago, my Costco didn't have any tickets in the store.

But, last night I found the picture above.  It's for a 4 day Park Hopper to Disneyland and California adventure for $259.99.  But, here's the great part…each ticket purchase comes with a $50 Costco card.  To me, that's like cash, so that makes each 4 day Park Hopper ticket only $209!!!!

The same ticket at the gates of Disneyland are $255 for kids and $275 for adults.  Fry's and Safeway sell 2 day Park Hopper tickets for $200!  So, only $9 more and you get 2 extra days!

I didn't write down all the fine print, but I do remember a few details.  The $259.99 price is for ages 3+, so adults and kids are the same price.  You have until February something (I think the 28th) to use them the first time.  After the first use, you have 13 days to use the rest of your ticket.  You can purchase a maximum of 5 tickets at one time.  It also includes 1 early entry where you get in 1 hour before everyone else (use that hour to get to the CARS ride).

Have you ever been to Disneyland at Christmas time?  It's magical.  I've also heard crowds in January are pretty small.  Good luck!

Walgreens Balance Rewards (Points)

If you haven’t signed up, you can do it online or in the store.  Basically, certain products will give you points, which turn into credit you can spend at Walgreens.  (See their “fine print” for exclusions.)  See the chart above for point values.

Currently, you can still earn Register Rewards for some items.  That is totally separate from this program and does not affect point redemption or earning points.

1)  You can purchase as many items as you want and the points will multiply.  (They do have the right to limit you.)  So, if Product A gets you 1,000 points, buying three of Product A will get you 3,000 points.  There’s no need for multiple transactions.  They have changed this.  Each deal has a limit of one reward per transaction.  You will want to do multiple transactions, if you want to maximize your points.

2)  You will get store credit if you need to return an item you “paid” for with points.

3)  You will not earn points for a product that you normally would, if you are redeeming points or using store credit.  (I suggest paying for items that generate points in an separate transaction, if you are earning any other points.)

4)  You cannot redeem partial points from the chart above.  I attempted to spend 59¢ after earning 5,000 points.  The cashier was not given the option to break it up.  I could have used it, but I would have lost the remaining $4.41 value.

5)  You can get a raincheck for the sale price, but you will not earn points when you redeem the raincheck.

6)  Points expire in one year or after your account has been inactive for six months.

Here is more of the fine print & FAQ’s.

Channel 12 Bargain Believer Coupon Segment ~ Video Link

For those of you who don't know, I did a segment on Channel 12 News today.  It didn't go exactly the way I thought, but not all in bad ways.  I'm really not an up front person, though I've been thrown in that position more often in the past few years.  I don't get nervous speaking in front of groups, but the camera thing is a whole different story.  I didn't know what to expect, but the team was very professional and the casual setting put me at ease.

My husband said if I didn't put this video link up here, he would.  He knows my password and I know he's serious, so here it is.  :)

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.  I fumbled through part of it, but it is what it is.

Attempt to skip over my answer to the question, "How do you take advantage of online coupons without a printer?"  I completely missed that one.  I thought she was asking how to print from a phone.  Obviously, I was just a tad off.  Oops!  If you don't have a printer . . . get Sunday coupon inserts, use digital coupons, or an app like Safeway's.  :)

I'm doing a free coupons class in Phoenix, if you want to learn more.  (Saturday, July 21st from 2pm – 4pm.  See link for more details)

Market on the Move in East Valley & More Locations, Saturday ~ 60 lbs of Produce for $10

Market on the Move is coming to the East Valley this Saturday, March 10th.  There are also many other Valley location as well as locations in Tucson & Maricopa.  See a list of locations & times.

It's the first time they will be in Chandler:
Desert Palms Church
4265 S. Arizona (south of Ocotillo & Home Depot), 8am – 12pm

Also note that there's an East Valley location that isn't on the list.  If I understand it correctly, they are doing their own ministry now, but it's the same produce, same cost.  (It won't be on upcoming schedules either, but it's always on the second Saturday, through May.)

Produce with a Purpose
Boys & Girls Club of Gilbert
(on Elliot, just west of Gilbert Rd)
, 8am – 11am
They have a Facebook page with information.

I've written more about it before.  Basically, you can get up for 60 pounds of produce for $10.  Wait times and selection varies each week and at each location.  The earlier you get there, the better the selection is, but unless you get there really early, it's more crowded.  I went earlier a couple weeks ago and waited close to an hour.  I decided it's just not worth it for me.  If I go, I'll go later and just get what they have left, which usually meant you can walk right up.

If you are thinking about going, I suggest you "like" them on Facebook.  They will be posting what produce you can expect and any other changes they want to communicate.
